Days Inn by Wyndham Laurel MS

Very friendly, very clean, very comfortable

We arrived in Laurel, MS about 7pm on a Tuesday night and checked several hotels but none were available. We went to the Days Inn, not a chain I normally choose. They had a room available and since there were no other hotels available we took it. The lady at the desk was very nice and was the best thing about our stay. The hotel was near full with pipeline workers and we were concerned about parking. During the night I found a pest in the bathroom which I flushed. There was a smoky smell in the halls and carpet was very dirty. Hotel management needs to be proactive in cleaning the rooms, elevator and public areas. The hotel is in need of renovation and, unfortunately, I cannot recommend it in its current state. I would suggest eliminating carpet in all areas and using vinyl flooring instead, the textured walls are dated and should be smoothed out, lobby and lobby hallway seemed dark and needs better lighting. Needs updating to current hotel standards that well seasoned travelers as well as novice travelers expect nowadays.

Uh oh! Whoever gave this place a decent rating must have been really tired like this hotel. First of all it reeks of smoke in the hallways even though we had a non-smoking room. It looks nice enough from the outside; evidently some attempts have been made to update the place but the carpeting looked dirty in the hallways and was even worse in our room which was marginally clean. The bed was clean and comfortable enough and the towels were decently thick but overall not the kind of place most people would choose to stay. We had to go back to the desk 3 times because the card keys wouldn’t open the door and the TV wouldn’t work in the morning. The staff were pleasant and tried to be helpful but honestly, this place needs a thorough overhaul.

When we booked this motel we thought it would be a nice place because it's a Wyndham rewards motel, wrong, you should not go here, the room itself was okay, after checkin we went to the pool, the pool area was not clean, there was trash and it was not like how a pool area should look like, the icemachine downstairs was out of order, the elevator was out of order, later in the room after we unpacked and went to bed, we found out that the matress was worn out, we rolled to the centre because how bad it was, after an hour we decided to put the blanket wich i folded under the matress, it was not perfect but it helped, but.... under the matress we found underware and a little pouch/bag with someones personal stuff in it, we didn't want to go downstairs to ask for another room because we had unpacked and it was midnight, the next morning i gave the guy at the desk the stuff we found under the matress and asked about if he would compensate us for the bad situation, he refused to do that, because we should have asked about it at the time we found out, that is how they treat you in this place, also when you look it up on google maps, it shows it is a Best Western, when you try to book it, it is not longer the case, weird, we do not reccomend this place to anyone

The staff tried to accommodate us, but the rooms available were smoking rooms and none of us smoke. It was just awful, beside the smell, the ashtray was dirty, there was a dirty pillowcase on the floor, the side table and hand prints on it. We skipped breakfast, we felt that if the rooms were so bad we weren't going to take a chance on the cleanliness of the kitchen. We will not stayed there again

We carry our luggage to our vehicle every time we leave our room each day. I was checked out of my room on the second day of a three night stay. If I had left my luggage behind someone else would have gotten their hands on it before I returned. Buyer beware!

Original reservation was for a non-smoking King room. When we arrived only ‘smoking king rooms were available so we were moved to a non-smoking two queen bed room. We were able to be placed in a room joint our other family traveling with us so I was pleased with the alternate placement.

Stay with my family here for two days was extremely disappointed the room was dirty had mole shower curtains was dirty no housekeeping second day no clean town no clean room was very surprised at the outcome at checkout so we plan to stay in Best question and Laura better thing twice

That said - an ok place to stay. Breakfast was good, and the staff seriously welcoming. Rooms were a little older, shower pressure almost non-existent. But - it worked. The place needs some updating... workout rooms, water pressure. But the bed - what it really is all about - was good. I'd stay here again. ... one note, the parking lot made me uncomfortable. Something about it made me very cautious.
