There is an odd smell in the lobby. Perhaps mildew from the pool or being close to the lake. Unfortunately, the air quality in our room was bad especially when the air conditioner turned on.

Upon pulling into the parking lot, the hotel seemed typical of a HI Express & the location was ideal. When I smelled what seemed to be mildew in the lobby, wet should have left. We thought maybe it was limited to the lobby because of the pool or moisture from being near the lake. Overnight, the air quality in our room was poor. I noticed it increased each time the a/c kicked on. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel.

The front desk person was nice and friendly. Even though there was a chalk board with all the info, he still gave me the lowdown on amenities. The room was clean and large. When I arrived I was asked which floor I preferred. They put me on second floor. Location of hotel was 1/2 block from Pine lake and a Mexican restaurant. I had to leave before breakfast so can’t speak to that. I’d stay there again.

No Complaints!
The hotel was very clean, customer service was friendly and helpful. I loved the fact that we was right across from the lake (literally walking distance) I would definitely stay here again if I am in the LaPorte, IN area.

Rip off artists
Double charged me for a one night stay and there is no one to talk to in order to address the error! Do not stay here, they are thieves!

Worst experience ever
The toilet was so low it felt like I was in a preschool bathroom. There were no cups in the bathroom and only 2 at the coffee bar. No lighted mirror for doing makeup. No bath mat and a general lack of towels. There are no grab bars for older or disabled guests.
The tv was not working. The front desk clerk tried to fix it, but failed.
Overall, I would never recommend this place to anyone unless they seriously addressed these issues.

We had a very limited window in which to check in. They were unable to accommodate us. That's fine, it happens. But, they still charged us the full price when we didn't even stay there.

Quick and easy check in process. Room was clean and beds were surprisingly very comfy! Hotel was quiet and well maintained, pool area seemed a bit dated but that didn’t deter my kids from swimming. Breakfast buffet options were good, absolutely loved that they had “to go” bags ready to grab by the breakfast station.
