"Hotel Orangutan was just as perfect for our 3 days trek. We did the trek with our 12 years old daughter and it was very special. From arranging our airport transfers and providing lodging, which was amazing, the staff was very professional, friendly and informative, nice to visit with and very helpful. We had 2 guides for us. Our main guide Monang is very experienced and very into the animal welfare, the second one (sorry forgot his name) was young as he's the new generation. but so helpful. The cook made us just excellent lunch and diner. We had to chance to see 11 orangutans. Some semi wild and some wild, male and mama with baby :-) We also saw Thomas's leaf monkeys, Macaque, Lizard... This was a bucket list since a long time. We recommend 100% the whole crew and the hotel ! Don't hesitate to ask for Monang as guide ! Yasmina, Diego & Alexa"

"Amazing place in the middle of the jungle! Take the stairs down to the river for a swimming or just relax with the jungle view. The room was basic, no warm water, but with air conditioning. So do not expect luxury, but the location in the jungle and the friendly staff are worth it! We took a tour through the jungle to watch monkeys and see the elephants with a very kind guide. I would recommend this place!"

"Top location... anyone who makes the effort to walk here from (busy) Bukit Lawang will be immediately rewarded and will immediately end up 100% in the jungle. From the balcony we saw Gibbons flying from one tree to another, Macaques marching through the garden and swimming in the river. We did that ourselves too. The place is pure and idyllic and an absolute must, without any reservations. Aca and its staff (Nofal, Yanta etc.) are available every minute. Top guys and always in a good mood. After our stay we traveled back to civilization by jungle taxi (read: on a raft) and even did a jungle trek at night. Unforgettable..."
