Hotels near Castro Theatre, San Francisco

The hotel's location is convenient, about 800 meters' walk to the Civic Center/UN Plaza metro station, and close to Union Square and Chinatown. However, there are many homeless people in the surrounding streets, which makes the environmental smell a bit strong. Although the room is a bit cramped, it is generally clean and tidy. The blackout curtains are excellent, and there are plenty of power outlets near the desk and bed. The bath towels are very new and pleasant to use. Breakfast is served from 7-10 AM, but the variety is simple.

Very expensive for a B&B. Nice spot in the Castro/ Mission district near Dolores Park. Well-maintained & reasonable management. Lots of stairs to go up into main house lobby — wrought iron gates with intercom to buzz to get entry into property. Try to get a room in the older main house to minimize stairs! No AC. They have limited parking spots behind the two B&B houses (access from Dorland St) for US$35./day plus tax which is a steep price. Make sure u book a parking spot in advance. Beautiful garden courtyard in the back. Sadly we never got to use it. Try to get a room that faces the other “house” or the backyard - quieter. We had a front room Deluxe King Room 36 which looked nothing like the sample room photos (only one Room 24 w courtyard view, sofa, coffee table). We got a smaller room approx 290sf vs what we paid for 32sq.m, 344sf, no closet just small armoire to hang a couple of things, no sofa, no coffee table, no balcony. They were kind enough to give us a refund for the price difference between the Deluxe King we booked & the Standard King we got. Had to ask for them to vacuum room. Found tissue under headboard/bed, dusty. Not the kind of room you would want to spend much time in —teeny tiny TV, faced front noisy street with electric bus passing by. No screens in windows so had to close windows at night to keep critters out. Bed was ok. Pillows were synthetic & lumpy. View was of electric lines & school across the street. Beware some electric outlets. One was burnt out. Breakfast was repetitive but nice to eat in a lovely breakfast room or outdoor deck. Hard-boiled eggs, muesli, fruit, muffins/ carbs, American coffee, juices. Fortunately SPRO café was next door if you need a great cappuccino or chai latté! Union was the right price in the very right location, and wonderful people running the place as well. Toilet & washroom were in the hallway, but that was OK with me, as I've traveled extensively outside the West, and done that regularly. BART access is nearly doorstep, which was a top priority - loved it! Location is right at the ”Burrito Triangle”, with lots of other food available, too, so dining is easy. Their complimentary coffee is strong & fresh, but since DIY was permitted, I brought my civet coffee & fill-yourself K-cups. Good place to stay!

Chose this hotel for its great location—close to my meetings and downtown. The room was compact but clean, with a comfortable bed and good Wi-Fi (essential for work). Staff was polite and efficient, nothing fancy but no complaints. Would stay again for business, especially if the price is right.

Cheap and old hotel that is suitable for 1 or 2 nights (no tikis mikis or those with glamorous pretensions) We got a room with a private bathroom, for approximately 80 a night. Don't expect quality, it's old and I understand that they are going to renovate it little by little since the reception is removing the carpet for a wooden floor. The room is 15 meters and had an exterior window, a somewhat rattly spring mattress but my back can accept it for at least 1 night. They have given the bathroom a touch and improved it. The infrastructure is basic but the cleanliness is more than acceptable. Don't expect luxury, the landings smell a bit strange I suppose because of the carpet (typical smell of this type of hotel with carpet) Summary, if you want to get to know this neighborhood this hostel hotel is a very good option. Difficult parking area, everything is charged The staff is nice, especially the one who checked us out, a charm 😊 They let you leave your bags in the luggage storage. The neighborhood is very nice, almost immersed and a few blocks from the multi-colored area 🏳️🌈🌈

A well-decorated hotel, the front desk saw me with a child and suggested that I change to a multi-bed room for free, because I didn't bother to change. The toilet and bathroom are not in the room, so if you want to take a shower, you don't need to think about it. Breakfast was average. For San Francisco, where soil is at a premium, it is recommended to stay.

Our stay at Nob Hill Hotel was unexpectedly great. Although it’s a little far from Union Square, the walk was very tolerable. What really stood out was the free unlimited water and coffee available 24/7, which was a huge plus. The hotel also has a very unique lift and a charming, distinctive style that added character to our stay. Overall, a pleasant surprise and a comfortable experience. We would also like to commend the helpfulness of Emmanuel, who assisted us during our stay. He is very kind and accommodating, and his warm service truly made our experience even better. We will definitely come back and even cancelled our other hotel booking so we can return again after our visit here in Hollywood.

The hotel has a pleasant location with several restaurants and bars nearby. There aren't as many homeless people as you might think, but you shouldn't go down the hill; it gets quite bad there. The elevator isn't for people who are afraid of heights. The reception staff were very friendly. The room was adequate for one person, and you can open a window. Bring your own shower gel; only shampoo, conditioner, and a bar of soap are provided. All in all, I would book this hotel again if I'm ever in San Francisco.

The heater wasn't working properly so we asked for help and was told it was automatic, but the room was still cold. On the second day we asked for the heater to be turned on, but it only lasted a few minutes, so we asked them for an electric heater.

Great hotel, typical of this chain. Clean room, well located, but lots of homeless people around and a lot of street noise at night. However, you feel safe.
