Lovely country pub. Well appointed and clean room. Friendly, helpful staff. Good quality food. Would definitely recommend.

Superb location - over-looking the sea from the cliff edge. However, watch out for which room you get. We got a room tucked away in the back with a view over the kitchen exhaust. However, even this room itself was pleasant, clean and comfortable. There must be some beautiful rooms though, given its general spaciousness and excellent location. The restaurant and pub style bar are also comfortable. The food and service are very good. When we went it was really busy, so booking was necessary. overall a 9/10 for the Vic.

Great pub in a great location near Scarborough and the Cleveland Way. Comfortable rooms, clean bathrooms, and provisions, including tea, coffee, biscuits, water, shampoo, and shower gel, are restocked daily. Really friendly and helpful staff, who went out of their way to help when the twin room we thought we had booked did not exist, and we needed breakfast earlier than the start time as we were leaving early to walk the Cleveland Way. Please note that if you are booking a room through a third party website, they all advertise the Blacksmiths Arms as having twin rooms when they do not. And breakfast is served from 8.30am. Overall, a very pleasant stay in a lovely pub.

Very clean room and bathroom. Just over 10 minutes to walk into Whitby. Good communication to access room. Good parking in with price. We were on top floor and it didn’t say on the booking , and I would have liked to have been prepared for all the stairs. However very very poor lighting on 2nd and 3rd floor when going out in evening and returning in evening. Hubby had to put torch on his phone , lighting needs to be better . However lovely place . Thank you

There is no big problem in the room, it is OK. No bath towels, I really don't want to understand.

Beautiful spot, however upon getting to my room the one of the lights wasn’t working, The toilet brush was disgusting with toilet roll all over it. There was a hole in the floor in The bathroom and it didn’t look clean at all. However the hotel its self was lovely, with gorgeous views over the sea, friendly staff and the food was brilliant!
