The hotel fulfils its promises! clean room, smelling and clean bed clothes. Breakfast and the perfect breakfast is worth it. Location is good, we went and walked back to the game in Maracana. It has a restaurant and bar right in front and if you need a drink, it is not a problem. It has 24-hour reception, we need a pharmacy help and we have the telephone quickly passed. The only point to wish but did not matter to such positive points was the travess, it could be higher and comfortable. We are happy with the stay. We recommend!!!
The ibis Rio de Janeiro Porto Atlântico is a modern budget hotel, located in the Santo Cristo neighborhood, three blocks from the sea. It offers rooms with comfortable beds, air conditioning, cable TV and free WIFI. The hotel also features a delicious bre akfast buffet in the restaurant. All of this 0.6 miles (1 km) from the Novo Rio highway, 1.6 miles (2.5 km) from Porto Maravilha and 3.7 miles (6 km) from Santos Dumont Airport. What's more, small dogs are also welcome.

It is located close to the GIG Rio de Janeiro International Airport. It is located in a newly developed area with better urban planning, wide and clean streets, and better public security. For transportation, you can take tram No. 1 and No. 4 and then transfer to the subway to go to various tourist attractions.
The only drawback is that there are no restaurants near the hotel, which is inconvenient. There is only one large supermarket nearby.
The fact that the rent was not increased during the Rio Carnival is commendable.

Location is close to all the historical part of the city, not a very clean and safe neighborhood if you will, but for experienced travelers is not an issue, but for vacationers, better stick to Copacabana, Ipanema or Leblon. There is no gym in the hotel like I read before booking, but there are plenty of gyms around, as well as places to eat and supermarkets.
Centrally located between the vibrant Santa Teresa neighborhood and Guanabara Bay coast Days Inn by Wyndham Rio de Janeiro Lapa is your guide to Brazils Marvelous City. Explore Rio by visiting nearby Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado ascending to Sugarloaf Mountain via cable car or taking a trip to the famous Copacabana Beach. We are also just three km from Santos Dumont Airport SDU and within easy reach of Rio de Janeiro-Galeao International Airport GIG.

Great hotel with restaurants and shops nearby. The selaron steps, pyramid cathedral etc are 10-15mins walking distance from the hotel. Fantastic staff at the hotel who are super helpful and informative. The room was big and clean, with a street/city view, and the shower room was a little on the small side but functional. Breakfast at the hotel was decent with a range of options available. I’m a vegetarian and had enough to eat. The hotel provides free coffee and free fruit infused water downstairs in the lobby area, which is an added bonus. A taxi from the airport to the hotel, and back again, should only cost you 70 riais at most each way, which was around £12/$14/€15. Would defo recommend this hotel. Thank you again :-)

The elevators are slow, there were queues. The room is stuffy, the windows do not open, I wanted to check and let in fresh air. The pillows are uncomfortable. We and our friends liked the breakfasts at the hotel, the choice of food in April was good.

The Location is just next to Cinelandia and Lapa in the City Center. The service at the reception was not so good.. You had to wait untii 3 p.m and you could deposit your baggage only upon paying! At certain hours breakfast people have to line up for breakfast. And mostly you have to wait long for the lift. The photos show views from the top of the Hotel

Very Good
GGuest UserFantastic luxury hotel, with brilliant pool area. Walk across the street and your on the beach which is soo quiet compared to others in Rio. Rooms are very spacious, the bed and pillows were fantastic, and the view of the beach is worth the extra. Very good breakfast with good choices. The hotel is also very secure with all entry points from the outside covered by security. Only downside is the bar and waiting service at the pool area.
WWinnieThe location is excellent, surrounded by hotels and restaurants. Across the street is the endless ocean and a beach bustling with people playing ball and running early every morning. It's very convenient to all the attractions! Of course, a sea view room would be much more comfortable. The sunrises are beautiful every day. Although you can't see east, they're still beautiful. The interior view rooms have a small balcony, but it can feel a bit cramped. Beach slippers are provided and can be taken away and reused.
GGuest UserVery friendly staff, nice hotel. I booked a suite for one night, the room was clean although it could use some refurbishing. One window didn't lock, so the noise from the street was constant. Located in a street with some stores, but not an area where you feel safe walking around. No toiletries included apart from s soap and shower gel/shampoo. Coffee machine in the bedroom with 2 coffee pods. I couldn't see a menu anywhere, assumed these were complimentary, as in most hotels where you rent a suite. I was surprised to be charged 1.5 USD per capsule on checkout, and that there was a QR code informing me of this in the room. I couldn't find it anywhere though.
All in all, great staff, but there is definitely a much better price to service/location ratio than this hotel in Rio
BBanruochuanThis is an extremely impressive hotel i have ever experienced.
The most impressive aspect is the service and Diego is a legend! Everything you need can be solved and managed by Diego super, professionally, systematically, precisely, prompt and warmly, just like magic and miracle.
if I could score higher, I would have given triple so high as full score for Diego's service!
I am really really glad to recall the days in this hotel!!!
GGuest UserThis property has the potential to be amazing, but it needs a few key updates. The location is fabulous, the staff is excellent, and the restaurant is great both in terms of service and food quality.
The room was spacious, and the balcony was unbeatable. If you only speak English, you can get by staying here because all of the staff speak excellent English. We encountered a problem when the showerhead broke off, but the repairman came reasonably quickly to replace it, and he was very polite and not disruptive. We ordered room service, and Dom Rio, the hotel’s restaurant, delivered it quickly. I had the filet which was cooked properly to the correct temperature (medium rare). My fiancé had the alfredo pasta which she liked a lot. The breakfast had a huge selection, and everything tasted good.
The only thing keeping this hotel from earning top marks is the general state of much of the decor in the rooms. The curtains look shabby and dirty from moisture, and the wood of the cabinets is warped also. It is very hard to maintain a room that is constantly exposed to salt water and ocean breeze, but the materials chosen have not stood up to age.
I would recommend staying here if you are interested in staying in Barra at a nice but reasonably priced hotel, but don’t expect the finest luxury. Expect a very large, fairly clean room with a comfortable bed and an amazing view.
GGuest UserThe hotel has a nice location on the beach, but the property could do with some updates.
The first room I went into had a funny smell, so I reported it to reception. The male receptionist looked at me, and as if he doubted my word
After I insisted, he assigned me a new room, but it was left to me to move my luggage. . No support was offered and I couldn’t be bothered to ask.
I did ask if there would be any complimentary water put in the room. He said he would get housekeeping to put some water, but I’m still waiting two days later.
Power outlets in the room are limited and not designed for modern travel. No USB points.
The TV is old and not smart or Internet connected. There are no cable channels so nearly all of the channels are local language apart from one CNN news channel in English..
The hotel is quite noisy and dogs. The walls are thin and guests scrape furniture across the marble floors. This is relatively easy to remedy if the hotel cared.
The rooftop pool was disappointing as it’s quite small and normally full of kids.
The restaurant is closed after breakfast. There is a bar, but it’s never open..
The biggest problem I had was the Internet. It did not work properly in my room and kept cutting out every few minutes. I had to stand in the corridor or come down to the lobby in order to get any decent coverage. I complained to the staff, but they did nothing and just told me it works.. This was extremely frustrating and I certainly wouldn’t come back to this hotel again.
SSaúde, paz e felicidadesExcellent value for money! Very welcoming and professional service! Very comfortable, quality products and great cleaning! Great breakfast too!
IIza M.RainbowI’d describe this hotel as utilitarian. No decor or warmth at all. The common areas are spacious and quite bare.Table and chairs at the restaurant are plain brown wood, The lobby is sparsely furnished with some worn , drab and very uncomfortable seats. Bathrooms are the same. Just the very bare essentials, not even a box of tissue paper ( and thin toilet paper) We travelled long hours, arrived at 22:00 looking forward to a good shower …not to be. We were up for a bad start. There was just a trickle of water not enough to bathe or properly brush teeth either. That could have been a whole area problem as we were told that water pressure can sometimes drop in some areas of the city. We changed rooms , water pressure wasn’t much better the next day either, the water flow improved just a little and remained as such the whole week. We had paid for 5 nights and ended up staying as the city was packed that week . To go looking for another hotel during the G20 summit which Rio was hosting that week of November 2024 would not be an easy task.
On the positive side, staff was pleasant and accommodating, bed was comfortable and from our perspective, the breakfast buffet was the best feature of this hotel offering abundant variety of food to meet all tastes- cereal, fruits and cheeses, cold cuts, several hot savory breakfast dishes - incl. some Brazilian regional dishes as well, a huge selection of breads, cakes, good coffee, and more. Very satisfying. Including breakfast in the booking is highly recommended.
The good fare offered at the hotel at lunch and dinner not good at all. However, there are also three of four restaurants lined up on a small stretch within 5 min walking distance of the hotel- one of them is a very good authentic European Portuguese cuisine and wine. Aprox. US$ 52 for a meal for two. On the same cluster of shops there is a well established Brazilian cuisine restaurant with a good menu where one can eat well for anything between US$ 12 to US$ 15 and a steak house similar to the Australian Outback steak house.
There are also other eateries snd convenience shops, a pharmacy on the same stretch ( 5 min walk ffrom the hotel) including a 24 hr laundromat where one can expect to wash and dry a load for about
US$ 7.
As for location, this hotel is not close to the most well known districts of Rio - places like Copacabana, Ipanema , Leblon - but Barra da Tijuca is a special area in itself and arguably has the best beach in town. The hotel is just a 10 - 15 min taxi ride to Barra Shopping- the largest and best shopping mall in the whole state of Rio de Janeiro where one can find anything, including restaurants (recommend trying Jappa all you can eat Japanese food spread for US$ 26 as in Nov 2024).
On the whole , when compared with the fashionable and pricey districts of Copacabana , Ipanema Leblon this hotel is good value for money . I’d stay there again if they fixed the shower situation b’cause this feature matters for me.
GGuest UserWe booked this hotel in Nov at an inflated price of $1500 USD for 4 nights assuming there'd be rooftop access on NYE since the hotel website didn't call out a ticketed event for that night. When we arrived, the staff told us it was in fact a ticketed event for an additional $300 USD. Perhaps our oversight but we scowered the website before booking at such a high price and it wasn't there. The manager was very helpful in accommodating a cancellation if needed, ultimately we were too tired to pack and unpack again and waste another day in transit so we stayed and bought the tickets.
Check in is 2pm. We arrived at 1pm and they said they had a room for us. It wasn't ready so we went to the pool where again, service was wonderful. Front desk gave us a tour of 2 rooms to choose from which was great, but then msgd me and said they'd have a diff room ready at 2:30. We went down at 3pm and the room changed yet again and the new room still wasn't ready. We got a room with no apologies at 4pm.
The room was standard. Strong cleaning smell but decent. The shower hose didn't stay in place. The shower drain did not work at all - we had to kick the water to the corner each time for it to drain or pools of water stayed until the next day. The sink also didn't drain. The toilet stopped flushing. We had a plate with one chocolate on it from NYE which by the next day was covered in ants. We are very tidy girls and give some grace for older hotels to have some flaws, but the experience for the price we paid made us appreciate the airbnbs we'd stayed at before checking in here.
Location is great, gym and pool are great, but not worth the $ for NYE or Carnival.
LLady KwenadiI had a great stay at Hotel Atlântico Rio! They kindly allowed me to check in a few hours early, which made a big difference after a long journey. The staff were warm, helpful, and professional throughout my visit. The breakfast was fresh and satisfying, with plenty of options to start the day right. One of the best parts is the location — just a short walk to Copacabana Beach, perfect for catching the sunrise. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Rio.
