SpringHill Suites Lake Charles

My stay at this hotel the past weekend was extremely disappointing ESPECIALLY for the price we paid. My family and I have stayed in Marriott Hotels for 30+ years and this hotel was not up to Marriott par. Not sure if it's a management issue at this location but it was not well maintained at all. There were many stains, lights not working, holes in the sink porcelain, mold, etc. in the room and hotel. The breakfast was bare minimum and honestly gross at times. The workers of the breakfast station were at times inconsiderate of guests, acting like guests were in the way just for the staff to move some labels around. I feel like the paying guest should be in accommodated in terms of waiting until they're done at a specific station. To be honest all the staff I encountered were very dismissive and had the body language as if they didn't care at all. This hotel should be better if it's a Springhill Suites under Marriott- I hope it improves. My cousins stayed at La Quinta and Sulphur for much less and next time, I will be looking there and other hotels.

The lady at check-in was very outgoing and welcoming. The room was very spacious and nice. Only issue was some lights did not work and the room smelled of mold/mildew. It felt very humid inside. Once I turned the thermostat down it was better.

Our original assigned room was occupied. The front desk was extremely apologetic and gave us a different room. The bathroom wasn’t clean. The reading light next to the bed didn’t work. The door to the toilet area (separate from shower) was stuck and too heavy for my elderly mother-in-law to close on her own. The room was big and the couch comfy but one of the beds squeaked getting in and out of it and was quite soft. The only saving grace was the front desk personnel, who were polite, friendly and very helpful.

Overall, our stay was good, but there were a few things that could’ve been better. There was no parking available, and the front desk person wasn’t very helpful—she just told us to park next door with no real direction. The AC didn’t work that well, and there was a leak from the vent in the bathroom. Also, the shower was super slippery.

Very convenient and customer service excellent Lethicia Ford is the person that she always check me in. She is exceptional, friendly and very professional. Thank you so much for making us so welcome.!!!

I love to stay there every time I travel too late Charles because it’s very convenient for me and the lady from the front desk is amazing. I don’t recall her name now, but I will put him in the next review.
