Fairfield Inn & Suites Lafayette

Avoid room on first floor, there are ants crawling in bed. The toilet in room 100 has very tough water stain as well, need some good cleaning. Too bad i cannot select my own room when check in online.  Fortunately the staff is kind enough to switch us to a different room.

Understaffed hotel. Checked in late around 11:30pm. No one at front desk for 15 minutes - locked outside. Called hotel and knocked on door and used phone provided. No one. Guest wandered in lobby and let us in. Finally someone came to front desk and they said they were cleaning rooms. Management needs to hire staff or give the 1 person working a device to pick up the phone when they are away from the desk. Insane you have to wait indefinitely and no one knows you are there. Finally after check in experienced dated not so clean rooms. And thin walls. Hear everything. Then morning. Again understaffed. No coffee. Ran out of forks. And pretty gross food. Ants on tables. Let front desk know all issues on checkout. Nothing. That’s the way they run hotel. Asked about General manger and he’s on vacation. No contact info available if we wanted to contact in the future. Way to go for customer service. Suck it up if you want to stay here. Staff I think are trying but management is doing horrible job. Understaffing and not providing good service. Marriott should review this place. And it’s management.

Location is convenient, 15 mins away from Purdue. Room was smelling quite horrible when we checked in. Seemed like the smell was coming from the AC. Musty and humid.

Great breakfast with lots of variety. Super nice worker at the front desk. Room was clean and it was well worth the 105 we spent for a Saturday night.

We were traveling from Salt Lake City to Lafayette for a family reunion and found this gem. After a long day of travel, we arrived late to the hotel where Julie was there to greet us. She was amazing! She had taken the time to pre-assign the three rooms I had reserved ensuring they were not only on the same floor, but also next to each other. Julie also offered to have roll away bed brought to one of the rooms so siblings wouldn't have to share. With in 10-minutes of getting to the rooms there was a knock on the door, and there stood Julie with the roll away bed. She was Awesome! As for the hotel... I usually try to find newer built hotels because I can't stand to stay in rundown, dingy places that are just plain disgusting! This place is not newly built; however, it is one of the cleanest and best maintained hotels I have stayed in. You can definitely tell the staff takes pride in their work. The mattresses and pillows are wonderful. I slept better there than I do at home. They do have a complimentary breakfast as well and the staff stayed busy making sure nothing ran out and stayed clean. It was perfect and better than expected. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, waffle bar, oatmeal and yogurt with a variety of mix in toppings, fresh fruit, muffins, breads and even a mix of single serve cereal cups. The family loved it! There is an indoor pool we didn't have time to use. I didn't see a hot tub. The gym is lacking but on par with hotels in this class. A few treadmills, an elliptical and a few hand weights with a bench. I did run on a treadmill one morning and they are commercial grade/gym quality Matrix treadmills. If you're a runner, you appreciate solid machines that the belt doesn't slip on. As a runner, I will also say the best thing about the gym is the temp; it's nice and cool in there. The location is great as well. Right off the freeway with easy access and parking. There is a lot of restaurants, fast food and convivence stops within walking distance. My son hit the McDonald's for late night ice cream and free fries a couple of times. Another reason this was the perfect stay for us; it was next to a McDonalds with a working ice cream machine! Haha! Overall, this was a great place for us to stay and I would/will definitely stay here again. For those reading this to determine if they want to stay here, I say don't worry. The staff is awesome, helpful and friendly! The property is great, the breakfast is great and the area in great. Hopefully, if you do stay here, you'll treat it like we did, a home away from home, and this place will remain the gem it is, nice and clean! Did I mention they have free cookies throughout the day...
