Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Gran Canaria Mogan

Breakfast: The breakfast offerings are frequently mentioned as a highlight, featuring a good variety and high-quality food. Guests appreciate the inclusion of smoothies and prosecco, as well as the well-organized food stations.

Feels like we stayed in a different hotel to other reviews! We knew for the price this would be closer to 4* than 5*, but in actuality it was closer to 3* (more like a Premier Inn with a pool except Premier Inn has better beds and hot breakfast!). Arrived around 7pm to a long queue, staff bickering as to whose turn to deal with the next guest. Assured at check in that a cot was in our room for our young toddler that we wanted to put down. No help with bags to our room, at the far end of the hotel. No cot in the room on arrival - two calls over an hour to resolve, it was back to reception to queue again; then told for the entire hotel there was only one person for house keeping and they are going as fast as they can. The resort photos were very creative and our room was next to the main road down to the resort, overlooking a car park. Breakfast was warm at best, and usually stale and cold. Mattress on one side had a huge sag in it. Sheets were dirty, torn and pillow cases didn't even fit. The chairs around the buffet restaurant are awful, old & stained with no cushioning left and usually a metal bar up your backside! Older children were often causing carnage in the infant pool - life guards occasionally tried to enforce a height limit but didn't really care. The VIC club was full of broken and grotty toys, which is such a shame as it's a nice room/space. There was an area behind our room with fake grass on it next to a concrete wall - people twice congregated here around midnight to play football, so we were awoken by thud after thud through the walls. We were relieved when check out came - I was assured we arrived on a busy night, and that the hotel could assist with bags, all we had to do was call reception when they were ready... called reception to be told the chap was on his own that morning and couldn't help until someone else came on shift. Two more trips to reception with bags... We could go on, this place was like fawlty towers, but for us this was really poor. The area is lovely and there are some really great restaurants in Puerto Mogan, with a lovely marina, nice beach, and good communal park. If you're travelling with a young family, visit the area but I'd avoid this hotel.

Amazing service from very friendly and approachable staff. Great breakfast buffet selection, with plenty of options for all tastes in The Lader. We had one evening meal in Filini which was gorgeous. The food at the poolside bar/restaurant called Il Tagilo was a real standout, cocktails were also a hit. Great entertainment on an evening we watched the Acrobatic show which was amazing, The Magician which was hilarious and thoroughly entertaining and also enjoyed partaking in the Music Quiz. Great children’s pool with plenty of sun loungers around, we struggled a lot to get our 5yr old son out of the pool he loved it that much. Lovely clean and spacious rooms. Our son was ill during the stay and the domestic staff member who attended our room was so lovely and helpful, showed real concern for our son and would not let me help her clean up telling me to sit and rest just showed how caring the staff at this hotel resort are. As well as the server who brought up our room service that day so attentive and friendly towards our little boy. Unfortunately did not find the time to visit the Spa during our stay but hopefully we will come and stay again. Short walk away from other lovely bars, restaurants and shops.
