La Hospedería - El Provencio
9.6 (40 reviews)

La Hospedería - El Provencio ★★★★

📍 Calle Tostado, S/N, El Provencio

"The hotel is very modern, and the rooms are large and well appointed, with the biggest double bed we have ever seen. The bathroom had a large walk in shower and dispensers for soap, shower gel, shampoo and body lotion. In addition there were several shaving kits and toothbrushes. In our opinion the biggest asset is the staff . Receptionists, waiters , and cleaners were all efficient, friendly and continually smiling, as well as being tolerant of our Spanish! The restaurant serves excellent food and is not, in our opinion, expensive. There is also a cafeteria for snacks. We unequivocally recommend this place. An added bonus is you can buy localkg produced excellent wines at a very reasonable price. There is also,, good free wifi and secure free parking"

Casa Rural El Rincon del Infante

Casa Rural El Rincon del Infante ★★★

📍 Plaza Mayor, 2, Villa de Don Fadrique

"Nothing was too much trouble for Juan our host. He greeted us weary travellers with refreshments and the breakfast was amazing. The rooms were large, comfortable and cosy. Juan also gave excellent advice on places to visit, where to eat, bus timetables etc."

El Patio de Los Jazmines Boutique-House

El Patio de Los Jazmines Boutique-House ★★★★★

📍 C. Hermanos Quintero, 17, Toledo, Consuegra

"A real gem of an overnight stay on the drive from UK to Southern Spain in an area with few other options. A small, immaculately clean, modern b&b and at a great price. Our room was comfortable and quiet, the breakfast ample. The owner/host was onsite to help with check in and also at breakfast. We enjoyed a refreshing dip in the small pool in the courtyard. We had dinner (as recommended by the host) a few steps away at ‘El Retorno’ restaurant - highly recommended!"

Palacio del Infante Don Juan Manuel Hotel Spa
7.7 (40 reviews)

Palacio del Infante Don Juan Manuel Hotel Spa ★★★★

📍 Calle Infante Don Juan Manuel, 2, Belmonte

"They gave us an adapted room, without prior notice. No hangers, no glasses to rinse your mouth, the minibar doesn't work. Everything was at a lower height than normal: the sink, the hairdryer... (And I'm short), the safe was broken and the door was held up by a shelf. The window looked out onto an outside hallway with a wall three feet away. It is not even much less than a 4-star level. It was a bad experience"

Hotel Rural la Vida de Antes ★★★

📍 C. Colón, 2, Toledo, Consuegra

"Very pleasant hotel in the centre of Consuegra. Has a beautiful courtyard to relax, a small pool. Gemma the receptionist was friendly and helpful. Check-in quick and efficient. Room comfortable, fresh and clean. Breakfast is Buffett and plenty, unless some guests are greedy! A very nice place to stay. Highly recommend."

"The dictionary doesn’t have enough words to describe the wonders of this place. Our room, El Lagar, was perfect and had a huge terrace that had a wonderful view of the windmills. The breakfast was excellent. The entire Casa Rural was decorated professionally. There was parking right in front of the house. The owner, Jose, recommended the restaurant El Retorno which was magnificent, it had magnified gourmet food and very affordable prices."

Palacio del Infante Don Juan Manuel Hotel Spa ★★★★
"A spectacular renovation and restoration of a stately home to safeguard the historical heritage of Castilla-La Mancha and attract quality tourism to a town like Belmonte, which is worth a visit just for its Collegiate Church and Castle. The downside is that a good idea turns into a mediocre experience due to the neglect of its facilities. A luxury, four-star hotel (actually barely a third star) with uncleaned hallways, rooms with lint on the floors, a lack of gel in the bathrooms, windows opaque with dust, tables piled up in the elevators, and a small, almost invisible staff. It's a shame, because the idea, an imitation of Paradores, was good, but either the regional government lacks the budget to maintain this type of facility or the management isn't carried out by professionals. For now, it's a missed opportunity."

Parador de Alarcon ★★★★
"We were booked in to the Parador for 2 nights. On arrival, we went to reception. There was no-one there and no bell or anything. After over 5 minutes we went to the hotel bar and asked if reception was manned. We were told it was and when we said we had been waiting over 5 minutes the barman said he would look for them. We went back to reception and again waited for nearly a further 10 minutes before the receptionist arrived. Not a good start for a 4-star establushment. We did the paperwork, were given the key and made our way to our room which was as described. Our next problem was the in-room safe. The way to lock/unlock it was to swipe your credit card. This was a method I'd never seen before. So I decided to try it empty. I shut the door, swiped my card, and it locked. But it wouldn't unlock. I phoned reception and was told she would be straight up. 10 minutes later I went back to reception to find out what was going on; it seems there was difficulty finding the machine and the handwritten notes on how to unlock it. Machine and notes found, we went back to the room where initially I was blamed for doing it wrong, which did annoy me. But in any case, the safe was unlocked and I retried locking and unlocking it....all ok. Now the room..... There are no drawers anywhere. The wardrobe had no drawers and the bedside tables had no drawers...there was nowhere to put anything that didn't hang apart from a small area below the hanging clothes. The bathroom. Very nice with 2 sinks. But on the one we used, when the cold was used it dripped badly from the join. Poor maintenance. The toilet itself was in a separate area off the bathroom. The floor around the toilet looked very stained, as if used by people with a bad aim! Again, get that sorted out. It's clear that at some stage the door in to the room was too long. The tiled floor is heavily scratched. It is obvious that the door wasn't rectified for a long time. The bed itself is on a platform about 10cm high. This looks as if it was constructed by an apprentice on their first day. The planks themselves are poor quality; they felt like cheap laminate and, as the supporting structure didn't feel adequate, many planks sagged as you walked on them. This is simply poor workmanship and low quality materials. The lift felt dirty and worn out. There was a bag of what appeared to be laundry outside our door for the entire 2 days we were there. The room is sold as having wifi in all areas. Our room had no wifi. I reported it to reception and was assured there was wifi. I stood my ground and eventually the receptionist admitted that there was a problem and that our room and 2 others had no wifi. There was a problem and it had been reported to the maintenance company. All things considered, bearing in mind the premium price we were paying for this room, I was dissatisfied. I certainly would not stay here again which is a shame as it is a beautiful building. This is supposed to be a 4-star establ"

Hotel Rural la Vida de Antes ★★★
"We stayed one night on our way from Segovia to the south. The hotel is easy to find especially as we arrived late Sunday. The hotel is an old house that has had the former courtyard roofed. The owner was most accommodating and helpful. There is a nice lounge area with a fireplace and plenty of seating in the courtyard, They provided a good European breakfast. We liked the ambience and old world charm We spent a few hours visiting the fort and windwmills on the hill which was very interesting and picturesque. Unfortuneatly it was Sunday and eveything was closed up tight as a drum. We couldn't even find one restuarant open, but there was a supermarket so we just bought some snacks to tie us over until the morning. Unless you are a real Don Quixote fan there is not much to do, but it was very nice transit spot to stop for the night."

La Casa del Médico Hostería Rural ★★★★
"50 days after receiving a reservation confirmation and only a few days before our arrival and the day before our flight, the hotel simply informed us that there had been overbooking and that there was no more room for us . We were suggested a hotel where there should be room but there was not. In short, they cause the problem but it is up to us to deal with the problem. With so little time before the scheduled date, it was difficult for us to find alternative accommodation. It cost us 2.5 times the price that had been agreed with this hotel. In short, if you book with this hotel, be informed that your confirmation has no value and that you may be required to reorganize your trip. We were offered a 20% discount for a future reservation...but were we going to be cheated a second time?"
