"My stay at Hotel La Jolla, Curio was terrible. The Ctrip booking page clearly stated that the price included breakfast for two, but it didn't mention beforehand that the breakfast wasn't buffet but rather a limited-amount in-store dining credit. Furthermore, the hotel's mandatory $30 USD destination facility fee per night wasn't publicized, leaving many crucial rules missing. These terms and conditions were simply placed on a sign at the front desk. The check-in process was rushed, and since English isn't my native language, it's unlikely that guests would proactively read the notices carefully. It's unacceptable to expect guests to know all the rules in advance. During my stay, the shower curtain in the bathroom was broken, making showering impossible. That night, my child and I shared a room, making it inconvenient to share the bathroom. Allowing my child to wait alone in the hallway late at night was also unsafe. I was only able to shower the next day after my child went to the lobby. For a room costing over 3,000 RMB per night, even basic, acceptable service was lacking. During my meal, I specifically asked the waiter if drinks would count towards my breakfast allowance. They told me drinks wouldn't, and I ordered according to the $50 limit. However, at checkout, I was informed that all drinks were included in the allowance, without any overspending warnings. The staff's statements were contradictory. It's not that I can't afford the extra expenses; I simply want clear and transparent pricing rules. Language barriers are inherent in overseas travel, and while I initially trusted Ctrip to provide complete and accurate booking information, I've encountered repeated information asymmetry issues."

"Great location but room was awful. Small, noisy, paper thin walls. Uncomfortable beds. Seemed tired and dated. View was of parking lot. Property right on the sand though. But wouldn’t stay there again."
