What an experience fantastic my wife and I loved it

Amazing amazing amazing! I want to go back already! Hot springs were amazing, I love the option of having at least one of the hot springs open 24/7, they change it each night for cleaning purposes, they’re very strict on the towels, each one is literally accounted for otherwise there is a fee per towel, no big deal as long as you keep track, didn’t really need to carry a towel around anyway, the only downside I’d have to say was the Italian restaurant was much better then the buffet option, also the slides are pretty intense, I actually hurt my foot on one of them, but it didn’t stop the fun. Wish I were back there!

We only went as part of a 1-day excursion yet it was wonderful. Will happily visit this place again. Convenient lockers for guests and the bar staff was friendly with good food. I wouldn’t stay in this location too long as it rains daily so I heard meanwhile the beach areas about 3.5 hours away are clear skies. But it was nice to visit the volcano area for 1-2 days.

Dreadful experience - firstly, they do not open their premises until 3pm. So our planning for a light lunch and swim before checking into our room was not possible. Sorry, we don't do lunch, no cafe, no bar, no nothing. Only food available at Dinner, which you have to pre book for and breakfast in the morning, but out before 10am. Wow, thats over $600 worth. They would not let us onto premises to go to the toilet, until I kicked up a fuss and then they unblocked the carpark entrance and opened reception on the threat I was going to have to go outside. This is not a spacious relaxing retreat. Nothing available except pools, and dinner. Also no disabled access to private pools. Disgraceful given how much they have spent on their website, to get people there. Fortunately, we got a refund and headed for Hanmer Springs, like many of those that came in behind us. Bad look for NZ.

Ok so let me address the elephant in the room up front / this is a tourist destination where people pay for daily access ... that is because it is 100% worth visiting it is really impressive - so you are sharing the resort with daily visitors some are better than others / some are big tour buses full of teenagers / they were all really respectful the falls and hot springs serve to keep everyone pretty calm - the drinks are less expensive than advertised as the dollar to colon exchange rate is favorable - the grounds, rooms, spa, lobby area restaurant (we ate all our meals here) were impeccable. We went running at 6 am each morning and the property was full of people cleaning every inch impeccably including draining and cleaning entire pools. our room was impeccably clean despite being in the middle of a rainforest with 100s of birds surrounding it including adorable baby birds above our door and humming birds next to our porch. The staff were incredibly friendly - and it just resort/ Costa Rica friendly / I know this is as our next resort had Costa Rican staff that were incredibly unfriendly condescending and rude ... the staff were patient and kind and all spoke English even though we rudely speak little to no Spanish. the food was amazing - the drinks we got were great and under the advertised price - we for an additional suite last minute in the middle of spring break that was spacious and amazing / we couldn't have been more pleased we would book here again and again five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
