"Stayed two nights at La Digue Lodge and had a great experience. The location is great—close to the beaches as well as shops and restaurants. Our garden chalet was clean, simple, and very cosy, and the hotel reflects well the natural charm of La Digue. The staff were welcoming and cheerful, and the atmosphere was very quiet, making it perfect to relax. The view and sunset there were absolutely magical. We also enjoyed the dinner buffet and a traditional Creole dinner during our stay. Would definitely recommend and happily return."

On the other hand, RUN AWAY FROM SAHRON, she scams customers by offering to prepare a fish dinner (200 rupees) in advance and then letting us choose the price we want to pay for the cooking service. She brings the dinner and then forces us to pay a substantial sum (80e) for smoked fish that isn't even fresh. Completely disappointed with the experience. I wanted to eat local food and I got SCAMMED. Be careful!!!!! The rest is fine but we preferred to leave rather than book an extra night."

"Sahil, Tirupathi, Yankey the best possible service in all of Seychelles, we traveled with our 4 year old son and the experience could not have been better, the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive all the time to anything we could need, truly appreciate all the sympathy they have shown us, the hotel is located in a quiet place, the rooms are very good and have all the possible details, refrigerator, TV, air etc, the restaurant where we had breakfast and dinner is right on the beach, the food is very good and the attention is truly incredible, finally it has a very nice pool that is always very empty since the hotel only has 6 rooms so the tranquility and relaxation are maximum, a big hug again to Sahil, Tirupathi, Yankey we wish you the best and hope to see you again soon."

"Pros ~ The hotel’s location was excellent, rooms facing the beach . Waking up to and appreciating the views of the breathtaking beach everyday was a dream. Close to the center and famous beaches ( Anse Source D Argentine others ) via bicycles which can be rented from the hotel. Nice pool with amazing views , beach lounges and cabanas available for guests to utilize. Rooms were clean, staff at the restaurant were excellent , very kind. Transport to and from the ferry port could be arranged through the hotel. Cons ~ Check in was long and tiresome , not sure why it took so long. One restaurant in the property, food was not that great , yet very expensive. Seafood buffet was horrible , not fresh at all probably the worst I have ever had. Try other restaurants in the area. Don’t forget to utilize the do not disturb sign , even if you leave your room for a second intending to go right back to the room or resting ( jet lag), staff will access your room to clean. The sign was hidden under a bunch of hotel information pamphlets in the room . If you are unable to ride a bicycle to get around , transport is expensive ( similar rates for a taxi and a buggy ), drivers will try to rip you off , Negotiate."

"The environment of the room itself should be okay. But it feels like there are very few people living there, and everything from the front desk to the guest rooms is not very clean. The reason for the ecological environment is understandable, but it feels like there is a lack of daily cleaning and maintenance. Since dragging suitcases was far and inconvenient, we reluctantly settled in. The problem was not too big. The staff provided good service and patiently dealt with the hygiene issues. Very friendly and welcoming. But overall, I don’t recommend choosing this place."

"My family and I recently had a distressing experience with this hotel, which I feel compelled to share. We had to cancel our reservation due to an emergency hospitalization of our 8-year-old son. We requested to reschedule our stay for a few days in September, as we were unable to travel on the original dates. Despite our unfortunate circumstances, the hotel management was inflexible and refused our request, stating that reservations could only be rescheduled until June. To add insult to injury, they offered a mere 10% discount on a new reservation for September, which is hardly a consolation when they had already pocketed our 826 euros without providing any service. For context, this amount represents a month's hard-earned salary for us in Portugal. Their lack of empathy and rigid policy have left us feeling incredibly disappointed and frustrated. I strongly urge potential guests to reconsider booking with this hotel. Their unwillingness to accommodate us in a time of crisis shows a profound lack of compassion and customer care. Save yourself the potential heartache and look elsewhere for a more understanding and flexible accommodation."

Our room/apartment with living room and kitchen was clean with daily service, and just perfect for us to unwind on our last week visiting beautiful La Digue Seychelles. We rented E bikes to explore the island. We highly recommend the electric bikes! We arranged to have breakfast on our last morning and it was fantastic! Cappuccinos, Fresh fruit, French toast, smoothies, fresh pressed juices and eggs cooked to order!"

"A good option for a short stopover. Three of us stayed at this hotel for one night. It was perfectly suitable for such a short stay, although there are a few things to be aware of in advance. The port is only a 10-minute drive away, or a 35-minute walk. All the beaches are easily accessible by bike. The food was excellent. We had breakfast and dinner included. The food was quite tasty and filling, with large portions. We really liked the dinner option: you can order any dish from the menu. Special thanks for the welcome mango juices upon arrival – very tasty and enjoyable. A useful touch for a beach holiday: beach towels are provided in the room, and there's a shower outside. This is very convenient – ​​you can rinse off after the beach before entering your room. The rooms are certainly tired, and the furniture is old. But for a simple overnight stay, everything you need is there. The only real drawback is the toiletries. There's no shampoo at all; they offer some questionable shower gel instead, so it's best to bring your own. The hotel offers a shuttle service. It costs 10 euros from the port. The organization was poor: they didn't pick us up on the first try, so we had to wait and confirm. The return shuttle is better—you can book it for any convenient time. We rented bicycles from the hotel for 150 Seychelles rupees. Average quality; better bikes are available."

"The address for the apartment is incorrect! The GPS points to a different location. We ran around the island with suitcases in the heat, which was pretty bad. I'm attaching a photo; the circled location is the correct one. Overall, the apartment is fine; everything you need is provided, except for beach towels. Being close to the ferry is a plus, but the dogs bark loudly all night and the roosters crow, which is a major minus. The neighboring hotel/apartment had a disco until midnight two days out of two, and it was also very loud. The apartment isn't cleaned, and linens and towels aren't changed."

"1/5 – Extremely Poor Value for Money The Ocean may market itself as a hotel, but in reality it feels more like a property that has not seen meaningful investment for many years. The infrastructure is severely outdated and would not come close to meeting typical Western hospitality standards. Perhaps some guests may consider this acceptable by lower regional standards, but it certainly does not justify the rates being charged. The photographs speak for themselves: exposed and improvised electrical installations, aging network equipment hanging on walls, damaged flooring, corroded air-conditioning units, poorly maintained plumbing, and visible signs of neglect throughout the property. To reach our room we had to climb 54 steps, a significant inconvenience that is never properly highlighted during booking. The stairways were often decorated with a mixture of dead and living cockroaches, which hardly contributes to a pleasant holiday atmosphere. Luxury can be a matter of taste. Hospitality is not. Unfortunately, the greatest disappointment was not the aging facilities but the attitude of the staff. A warm welcome costs nothing, yet we encountered an atmosphere that felt indifferent, unhelpful, and at times outright unfriendly. I have stayed in modest guesthouses that offered far better service and cleanliness than this hotel. At The Ocean, I genuinely struggled to identify a single aspect that met expectations. Rating: 1/5 Outdated facilities, poor maintenance, unpleasant access, and remarkably poor hospitality. I would not return and cannot recommend it."

"Best beach location in la digue. The extensive gardens, the spacious A frame refurbished Chalet, the beach, the staff but not the food;) makes it in my opinion one of the best options in la digue. Pick up and drop off from the ferry ( La passe) terminal. Our A frame chalet was just a stroll throw from the beach as you can see on the pictures. Spacious accommodation, refurbished bathrooms, a mezzanine with extra space ( for kids) a nice terrace with sunbeds and a table. Not luxurious but very well in line with what La Digue : laid back, chill, barefoot cool vibes. The ladies are reception are so cool, the minute you arrive you are in the mood: You are on holidays. Open air lobby with wooden floor facing the gardens. Welcome drink on arrival and also the place to change your beach towels on a Daily basis. The restaurant is next door overlooking the beach with amazing views. Further up you will find the pool and a bar. Not used the pool at all as the beach in front of the property was great. Every morning the staff was removing the seaweed brought to the beach making the beach look pristine. Sunbeds are available all along the property and shade provided from the palm trees is very nice. Breakfast is basic and not much choice to be honest. You can rent your bikes at the hotel just by the entrance gate which is very practical 10€ per day and park your bikes just outside your accommodation. Also just by the gate there is a supermarket for your basics: sparkling water, nuts , fruits etc… The location being in the middle of the island makes it very convenient to go to each side of the island and away from the hustle and bustle of La passe ( island center, ferry quai etc) also being front line beach, the lodge is very appealing and sleeping with the waves noise is amazing. I can’t wait to go back. Loved la digue island lodge and loved the island"

"A simple option for one night It was suitable for us for one night on the island. Pros: Location: 10 minutes from the port Breakfast: Quite filling. Staff: Special thanks to Julia! She was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating, allowing us to leave our bags after check-out and even take a shower before leaving. Amenities: There's a shared kitchen where you can cook. Cons: Booking discrepancies: The voucher indicated a different address, which caused initial confusion. Furnishings: Very basic, without any extra amenities. Utilities: No Wi-Fi in the rooms. Shower: The water isn't very hot. Kitchen: Basicly equipped. We were missing salt, pepper, and oil. Some of the mugs were chipped. Verdict: If, like us, you just need a place to stay near the port without any special comfort requirements, this option is suitable. Julia's kindness brightens the otherwise austere atmosphere. However, for longer stays or if you value comfort and consistent amenities, it's better to consider other options. Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos; I'm attaching one that shows the bathroom."

"Avoid this place! Pictures and description are really misleading. What you will experience is musty smelling rooms, worn furniture, dusty curtains, cockroaches and other insects (every night), really dirty bathroom. Loud neighbors with a barking dog (all night long). Room service left our room unlocked. Windows cannot be opened as they are screwed to the frames. Breakfast was a joke and an impudence in view of the room rate ... We were so disappointed (and disgusted by the place), that we shortened our visit. Hotel manager confirmed that we would be refunded. However, this was later revoked by the general manager using false reasons, so they even cheated on us and didn't sticked to their promise. We are still waiting to get our money back! Reading through the replies given by the management to other low reviews/ratings, I expect them to put the blame one us, their customers ... which would simply complement the picture of how they perceive and treat customers. A shame for Seychelles and La Digue."

"I chose this accommodation primarily for the restaurant, which was essential for us, as the property is far from the city center and the restaurant area. However, when we arrived, exhausted from the long journey, we discovered there was no restaurant on site. There's no reception; in fact, there's a desk, but it's always empty. The breakfast lady is present, but she gave us the impression that everything we asked for was a nuisance. My suitcase was turned upside down during cleaning, so I found all my clothes in disarray. The bed had springs, some broken, so it was painful to sleep on, although the room looked beautiful and comfortable. Unfortunately, our room adjoins the kitchen, and already in the early morning we could hear all the noises of breakfast preparation, the phone ringing, and guests having breakfast. Beautiful nature and wonderful plants. Espresso coffee was provided in the room. The Nepalese woman and her husband were very kind and efficient, unlike the woman from La Digue, whose name we don't remember, who avoided saying goodbye on our last afternoon."

"I was looking for a place to have breakfast, and even though I wasn't staying at the hotel, I was warmly welcomed. From the moment I arrived, Marykate's friendly voice and genuine hospitality made me feel so comfortable. She even allowed me to leave my bag at the reception so I could enjoy my breakfast without worrying about my luggage. At the restaurant, Vinod and Katherina made sure I was comfortable throughout my meal. Their service was exceptional—they were attentive and thoughtful, allowing me to finish each plate before bringing my next order, which I really appreciated. My boat wasn't leaving for another five hours, and they kindly allowed me to relax by the pool so I could refresh before my journey. My dress had become quite wrinkled, and Ms. Darina was incredibly kind in helping me with it. Thank you as well to Visal for the lovely glass of champagne while everything was being set up. Your team truly knows how to go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome, even those who aren't staying at the hotel. This experience has convinced me that I will definitely be coming back—next time as a guest. I will proudly recommend your hotel to everyone I know."
