Azureva la Clusaz les Confins

Azureva la Clusaz les Confins

📍 3739 Rte des Confins, La Clusaz
★★ 8.1 (52 reviews)

"We were the only English family of around 50 French families. We did not feel any different and were greeted by all with warmth and friendship. I feel it has a 2 star rating as the rooms and communal areas are not luxurious, but everything works and us comfortable, plus it does not matter when you are on an active holiday. The food however was 4*. Fantastic choice, delicious and healthy. There was no expense spared in the quality and choice on offer. Absolutely brilliant and highly recommended."

"A wonderful stay at Les Sapins. The rooms were nicely furnished and very clean. The staff were welcoming and all very friendly. The food was amazing .. tasty and huge portions. And to top it all the hotel was literally on the piste. A five min walk into town too. Would highly recommend. We hope to return."

Hotel Alpen Roc

Hotel Alpen Roc

📍 388 Rte des Grandes Alpes, La Clusaz
★★★ 8.5 (46 reviews)

"Great stay, the hotel has everything you need in a basic way. Food good. Boot room is a good size, no boot warmers. Bar is a good size, though very hot! We had a mezzanine family room, it was a great size for 4 of us, it would have been great if more had been made of the mezzanine landing space, more coat hooks/coffee tea station. Ski hotel rooms never have enough coat hooks! Bit of a walk to the lifts. Overall a good stay, very clean. "

Hotel Beauregard

Hotel Beauregard

📍 90 Sent. du Bossonnet, La Clusaz
★★★★ 8.9 (43 reviews)

"Hôtel was nice and in a good location especially if you enjoy having a short walk in to the town (approx 8minutes). Facilities ok, no fresh drinking water available in the rooms or any mini bar contents (mini bar was there, just empty). But room and bathrooms were nice. Reception staff not very accommodating or forthcoming with assistance- when asking if someone would be able to help bring our suitcases down (we have 3 young children so had a lot of stuff) there was a sense of reluctance. Bar staff were also not very attentive- we waited 20 minutes for a drinks order to be taken after being told not to order at the bar and someone would come over- not sure if this was because they were busy with the large conference group. Overall hotel nice and lovely location but feel the staff could do with some client focused training. "

Hotel Christiania

Hotel Christiania

📍 77 Rte du Col des Aravis, La Clusaz
★★★ 8.5 (51 reviews)

"We had a great week's stay at Hotel Christiania, the buffet breakfast had plenty of choice and the restaurant meals were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location in the centre of La Clusaz was perfect for access to the chair lifts, shops and cafes."

Logis Hôtel Restaurant U'Fredy

"A fantastic hotel, restaurant, food, friendly staff and close to the ski lift. An hour from Geneva airport. Close to ski hire place and bus stop to town. Comfortable beds. Quiet location. Ski store room. Not much close by so ate at hotel 3 out of 4 nights. We missed the free ski show."

"I visited on a skiing trip with my two sons and echo the other positive reviews. To manage your expectations, consider the number of stars the accommodation has been awarded, and the relative price compared to other accommodation in the village and region. With all that in mind, I would consider my stay to have been excellent. The room was comfortable and functional. Considering we were the only English family on site, all staff made us feel very welcome and relaxed with their positive and friendly engagement. From a half board basis the buffet food was a good standard with sufficient variety to suit us all - the kids were 18 and 20 years old and didn’t complain at all. Dining room staff were helpful and friendly, with the head of service going out of his way to make us feel welcome. Reception staff were available and helpful and the bar area was enjoyable and comfortable, managed well by friendly staff. Gear storage for skiing was more than adequate and the location suited us, being a short bus ride to the Balme ski lifts and slightly longer to the village centre, in a quiet area. I would definitely consider a return trip and recommend to others."

"Lovely hotel, nice views, close to Bossonet chair lift and village centre. Ski lockers on site and lovely bar with fab cocktails. Great breakfast. Loved the pool but not great you have to pay - didn’t realise beforehand. Bus to central village and gondola just outside and regular which was fantastic."

St-Alban Hotel & Spa ★★★★
"Nice hotel in a relatively good location. Very small parking lot (20€) with reservation required. Parking nearby is quite expensive. The downside is the extremely poor ventilation. On July 3rd, it was 23 degrees Celsius outside, but 29 degrees in the room, and impossible to get any cooler despite opening the windows (which didn't have mosquito nets?!). We slept with a cheap, noisy fan. Earplugs are essential. The system isn't designed for summer. In the heat of summer, it must be unbearable. The staff tell you there's a very serious problem (even for them) and that they've received many complaints… apparently, it's the same issue in winter; the rooms are too hot. Yet another example of excellent architects and engineers for this relatively new building. What a shame. We will certainly choose another option next time."

Hotel les Sapins ★★★
"Just returned home from a great five night stay in this lovely hotel. All members of staff were friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed being able to ski from the hotel down to the Beauregard gondola and back via the poma outside the hotel. One day we were even able to ski back to the locker room door after a sizeable fall of snow! Enjoyed our ample breakfasts and delicious, more than ample, dinners. The one criticism would be the unsightly mould in the grout over the bath."

Hotel Beauregard ★★★★
"Room was very small for a twin room. Chipped toilet seat. Chipped enamel on the bath. Toilet roll holder hanging-off the wall. Beds were fresh and comfortable. Robes for the spa are old, tatty and very off-white and off-putting. The spa is like a crèche. Constantly noisy and fully of children, impossible to relax. Bar area full of children and noise. No log fire burning or tranquil ambience - felt like a motorway station. Bar staff rude, inexperienced and noisy themselves. Waiting time unacceptable for bar food (pate!). No room service even though my friend broke her leg!!!! No attempt to see if she needed anything during the days she remained in her room…. Had to beg staff for help at every juncture. It appears to be a lack of training I hope, because if it is attitude, I feel we have not stayed in the same hotel as some of the other reviews, which is why we chose the hotel in the first place. Shabby and very disappointing."

Hotel Christiania ★★★
"Negatives first; The hotel is getting old. It needs a reno. They started with shower room...that was quite nice, but carpet and decor haven't been updated in awhile. They make good use of space...the bunks in the room allowed our pre-teens and us to fit in one room. Parking; They have limited space in the back and if you get lucky, it's quite convenient. There is also a parking garage nearby, but was completely full when we arrived. I think the business of the town when we were there may have taken the hotel manager by suprise. She was quite flippant about parking, and seemed a bit suprise that everything was full. It's not exactly the hotel's problem... Plus +: The half board was a great value. The meals were honestly too big, and we should have said something, because I felt bad not finishing the courses and over ate a few meals. But they were amazing. The staff of young waitresses were very kind and tried very hard with us non-French speaking americans. Besides the great value of having dinner on-site, it's location was amazing. Next door to an amazing cafe/bakery with impressive pastries, and great service. I honestly don't know where the snooty French stereotype developed, but it wasn't in La Clusaz. Everyone was nice. A lot of English is spoken, and I feel guilty most of the time because of my lack of French, but the hotel and the town make it quite easy to get around. The downtown kids activities are super close also. My kids would have preferred a pool, but for the price, this was perfect "

"We have just finished a very enjoyable short ski break at this hotel. Family run with good food, drink and comfortable accommodation. Ski in ski out but you need to be a confident skier to reach the other areas of la Clusaz. We did feel a little bit cut off from the main resort as the buses are infrequent finishing at 7.10 pm and taxis are hard to book. We ate at the hotel all 4 nights and took advantage of the happy hour between 4.30 - 6.30 each night due to the difficult transport situation which wasn’t ideal. A shuttle service or better transport to town would have made this go from a great holiday to a fantastic one. A big thank you to the family for making our holiday a great one. Nothing was any trouble. Good luck with your new venture ."
