Fauchon Hotel Kyoto Reviews

My wife and I booked the Classic Room for 3 nights in April 2025. We thought this was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our trip. From the moment you enter the hotel, you are welcomed by the hotel staff. You leave your bags with them and you walk up to a separate reception area where you are seated and offered tea and macarons. Check in is conducted while you sip your tea. After you get your keys, you go up to your room and your luggage bags are already there. We were very impressed by the reception. The room itself is fairly sizeable and offers a cabinet of Fauchon snacks. We had a good view of the alley behind the hotel that was lined with Sakura trees. We could also see the mountains in the distance. The location of the hotel is also great. It is located about a 5-10 minutes walk from downtown Kyoto and about a 5 minutes walk to Kiyomizu-gojo station. We also had breakfast which included a free flow selection of bread and pastries like French croissant, baguette and brioche. You also get a fruit plate, salad, and omelette. If you stay for more than 1 night, you also get a premium breakfast menu for your 2nd night onwards. We will definitely return to this hotel the next time we are in Kyoto.

I had an excellent stay at Fauchon. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality. The hotel staff were also incredibly attentive and polite throughout our stay. My room was small but comfortable, featuring modern and luxurious amenities that were stylishly pink in colour and comfortable bedding. The attention to detail in the room was impressive, with thoughtful touches including a whole array of complimentary cookies and cake. Breakfast was served as a set menu and selection was limited and basic but expertly prepared and presented. The hotel's location was also perfect for me because it is situated right in the heart of Kyoto yet away from the crowded spots with excellent access to public transportation. The bus station is right in front of the hotel, the nearest train station is about 10 mins walk and the hotel is approx 15 mins walk to Kawaramachi Street (shopping area). Just behind our hotel is the river and all the restaurants. Our room has the mountain view.

This luxury boutique hotel exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail is impressive. Every aspect of the guest experience has been thought through. From check-in to check-out, we felt like VIPs. The room was as beautiful as it was comfortable. Food at the Geand Café was spectacular. Perfect location, with several several buses stopping right in front of the hotel, making exploring Kyoto very convenient. Short walk to Gion and other interesting areas. The only area for inprovement would be offering a wider selection for breakfast. It was excellent, but we wished there were additional options. Will return next time I’m in Kyoto!

The room is bigger than average in Japan. Have comfortable bed and pillows. Miss Kana is very helpful and attentive.

I stayed at this hotel for the entire three-day trip to Kyoto. The location of the hotel is not bad. It takes a few minutes to walk to the Kamogawa River, and about ten minutes to walk to Takashimaya? Just take a walk. The variety of breakfast is incomparable to that in China. The bread is quite good. I also saw his bakery in Osaka Takashimaya. The room area is considered large in Japan, and the hygiene is also OK. Dyson hair dryer, free mask, whitening sensitive skin should be used with caution. The minibar gave a lot of small biscuits and fruits, and the taste is OK. There is no bottled water. It is said that the tap is direct drinking water and can only be boiled for drinking. The water flow of the tap is small, but the shower water pressure is enough.

French hotel style. The smell is great. It feels like home! The hardware and software are good. I will book a suite next time. The room can be bigger. Book in advance during peak season because there are few rooms.

A girls’ trip with mommy~ We booked a slightly larger room, which was very spacious and comfortable. The room was decorated in a pink French style, but gold foil elements were used on the ceiling, bedside, and toilet door to echo the ancient and beautiful city of Kyoto... The service staff are very helpful and will take the initiative to provide help! The breakfast was very good. Although it rained a little, I sat by the window and enjoyed a great morning with my mother. The eco-friendly bag they sent is very cute and practical. The painting is of Kyoto. If I have a chance to come to Kyoto again, this place will definitely be my first choice.

A bunch of snacks were given for free in the room, especially a canvas bag as a souvenir, which was very generous. This is the hotel with the most satisfactory service during the 9-day trip to Japan. 2. The room facilities are complete, the living room space is large, the shower room, toilet, and washbasin are very atmospheric, and the decoration is very pink, the kind of delicate feeling of a little woman. I stayed for 2 nights and gave enough toiletries every day. It can be seen that the hotel pays great attention to the guest experience and feelings. 3. The transportation is very convenient. Behind the hotel is the Kamo River. Walking up along the Kamo River is the Nijo Sanjo, and there is also Kiyomizu Temple. There is no need for transportation to go there. If you want to go to Yasaka Shrine and Hanami Koji, it is also very close. There is a bus stop at the entrance of the hotel, which can go directly to Kyoto Railway Station. It is really convenient. 4. The emotional value is maximized.

This French hotel is great in every way. It is very suitable for couples or female friends to stay. Special praise to the short-haired girl at the night shift front desk. When she learned that we wanted to buy champagne from the hotel but the store downstairs was closed, she asked her boss for permission. As a result, she personally delivered champagne and champagne glasses in an ice bucket. The other service staff were also very enthusiastic. The desserts in the room can be taken away as souvenirs, and the eco-friendly bags are also given, which is a thoughtful gift... The surrounding environment is also great. I will stay at this hotel next time I go to Kyoto!

Shinsaibashi, Nagahori Bridge and subway station are right outside the door. It's a great place to see cherry blossoms, eat Japanese food, and eat and lie down. There is a commercial street at the door, and Takashimaya is within walking distance.
