Fujiya Ryokan Reviews

We arrived early before the check in time (4pm) and were greeted by the owner. We could not check in but could leave our bags there. They have an 11pm curfew because they will lock the main door. The showers and bathtub are shared and times are limited (close before 11pm) so you'll have to plan ahead. The room size isn't big, toilets are shared, in the common area. We left early in the morning to catch our flight, so we did not have the chance to try the breakfast. Although there was a stated time window for check out, we could leave way earlier than that. Just have to unlock the door and leave. However, the owner woke up earlier and saw us out.

Location was superb convenient to the train station. All amenities kit are provided. Host is a kind lady living with her cat. Great experience in a Ryokan! Recommended

This is a pet-friendly hotel. The proprietress said there are three cats in the hotel. For a Japanese, her English is pretty good, so there is no major communication problem. The only drawback is that there is access control because the proprietress lives on the first floor, which is a bit difficult for me who is used to freedom. Also, it is said that Japanese people are accustomed to soaking the whole family in one bathtub and are not allowed to drain it out, so I have some concerns about the hygiene of those who are not family members but only guests. All in all, it is still recommended!

It's quite good. You can quickly get to the underground square of Kyoto Station. The hotel owner is very enthusiastic and the hotel has all the facilities. It will be very convenient to stay here if I have the opportunity to travel to Kyoto again.

I stayed here for three nights. It is close to the station and there are three convenience stores nearby. The hostess is very attentive and the room is clean and comfortable. If you have a chance, you will meet the owner's cat Lily who greets you on the first floor. It is a highly recommended accommodation.

I saw a white cat, it was skinny and looked like the hostess.

A very classic Japanese-style house. The owner is a very elegant lady, a little serious, but very nice~ I saw Lily's tail, but not her face hahahaha. Later she went to another room~

The service is attentive and the facilities are complete, giving you a perfect experience of a traditional Japanese inn. Bathroom facilities are all available. The location is very close to Kyoto Station, Kyoto Tower, department stores and other places. It is only a few steps away, which is very convenient. The proprietress is very considerate and kind, and the cat is very cute and family. Worth going again and again.
