Shaxi Fansu Ancient Town Countryside Life B&B Reviews

Beautiful hotel. Freshly designed. The owner was very helpful. For us the location was superb, at the outskirts of the village, because we rented two scooters. This enabled us to get to the old town easily and to explore nearby villages. There are beautiful picturesque trails around Shaxi. Btw, the owner is always willing to take guests to town, no matter the hour. There is a Western restaurant in the old city called Peter's Kitchen that we highly recommend. After months of Chinese food, it was such a pleasure to have such superb dinners there. The only thing that bothered us was the noise. Apparently, the walls in the units are very thin. But we were mostly the only guests, so no biggie.

We stayed here for one night over New Year and had a beautiful time! The location is quiet and it feels like coming home to loving family. The breakfast was great, they even brought it to our room when we asked. Would definitely stay here again! 谢谢

The BnB is run by Shaxi locals, and the ladyboss told us she used to work at a shop in Lijiang but decided to return to Shaxi and start her own BnB business! It was an amazing stay for our family. Breakfast was delicious. Although the BnB is a short drive away from the ancient town, the ladyboss drove us there and back in her electric buggy and it was very convenient.

Pleasant and comfortable stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Shaxi and this B&B. The room was modern and clean with essential amenities and snacks provided as well. The host runs the B&B single-handedly with just one cleaner to help. It is admirable and amazing how she manages to provide excellent service and keep the B&B in great condition, whilst taking care of her adorable baby! The host even provides buggy shuttle service to and from the Shaxi ancient town and will be able to arrange for drivers if you wish to go to more inaccessible sightseeing locations where DiDi pick up might be uncertain.

Lovely place located outside of the busier old town. Clean and comfortable room with a good shower. Walls are a little thin. Staff very helpful and have a free shuttle service into the old town.

Spacious and comfortable room. The design is modern. Look forward to the delicious breakfast prepared by the owner. It is a short distance from the old town but the owners will give you a ride.

The boss is very nice and lent us a small electric donkey, which is very convenient for entering and exiting the ancient town and farmland. You don't have to stay in the ancient town. The large farmland looks very comfortable. The room is very large

The small courtyard is very quiet and the room is clean and tidy! It is very close to Shaxi Ancient Town. The owner has a car to pick you up. Breakfast includes chicken soup rice noodles and corn buns, etc., which are delicious. I will book here next time!

The proprietress of the B&B is very welcoming. The B&B has a free shuttle bus to Shaxi Ancient Town. Overall, it is worth recommending to friends, couples and families. The Yunnan rice noodles for breakfast are also delicious!

A very cozy B&B. It feels like home. The owner is very welcoming. The room is clean and tidy, with dry and wet areas separated. The bedding is very comfortable and the room is very soundproof. The B&B is a little way from the ancient town, but the owner will drive to pick you up. The breakfast is very rich and the local chicken rice noodle tastes great. I had a great time this time. If I come again next time, I will still choose this B&B.

This homestay (I think it is a fine farmhouse, and it is really...) takes 6-8 minutes to drive from Lishaxi Ancient Town (without traffic jams), and the surrounding area is very desolate. The boss said that we can use an electric car to take us to the ancient town, but I don’t know what to do if we come back from the ancient town, and he can’t wait there all the time. In short, the location is not very convenient. We arrived in the afternoon, drove by ourselves, and turned around a few times but couldn’t find it. Later, we found a middle-aged man holding a child on the side of the road and asked us where we were. We said we wanted to check in at the hotel, so he guided us along a very small road (definitely only bicycles can pass) to drive in. After finally parking the car, he guided us to check in through a very small door. When it gets dark, without anyone to guide us, it is difficult to drive the car out by yourself. There is nothing to eat or visit around, so we can only go to the ancient town, but as mentioned above, it is not possible to walk there, which is very inconvenient. It was raining on the day we arrived, and the temperature was only 6 degrees. We found it very cold when we entered the living room where we checked in. When we entered the room, we found that there was only a split air conditioner. We turned on the air conditioner for at least an hour before it warmed up. We were still cold the next day. We had booked two nights on Ctrip and immediately applied for a one-night refund. The lady boss was very happy and immediately agreed to cancel the one-night reservation. We got up the next day at 8:30. We walked around but didn't see the boss and the lady boss, so we didn't know how to eat the breakfast that was originally included. So we packed our luggage and checked out. When we drove, the boss came out and said that breakfast was ready. We thought about it and let it go. The luggage was already in the car, so we set off. The boss is still a very simple and nice person. But I think if you go to Shaxi to play, you should still choose to go to the inn in the ancient town.

The owner and his family are very nice. It really feels like home, chatting and setting off fireworks. The B&B is a little far from the ancient town and needs to take a small yellow car to get there, but the owner always picks you up and drops you off. The small courtyard is very comfortable. You can sit and drink tea, read books, and the children run around. We booked a family room, the bed is very comfortable, and we slept very well. The chicken soup rice noodles for breakfast are great, delicious…

Amazing city, I want to go again, I really liked the place, coffee, the whole place is very beautiful and interesting. Definitely a place to stay for more days and enjoy it much more.
