Kintail Lodge Hotel

Great Breakfast. Fantastic Staff and incredible location. Had dinner in the evening as well in the bar. Nice selection of simple Scottish food which was well cooked.

The owners love in London and the staff are professional but clearly lack any investment in or belief that this a venue which is loved. Everything is bang average. Except the prices which are absurd and bennchmsrked against other establishments (further up or down the A87) are borderline offensive. 25% over priced beer and food. This is Derbent pub grub at restaurant prices. They have a captive market and little nearby competition but that shouldn't leaf to complacent ownership. If this was owned and run by someone who lived locally it would be vastly better but I guess it's on the rosd to somewhere and just picks off exhausted hill walkers with no other options.

Our opinion of Kintail Lodge improved throughout our stay. Unfortunately we entered through the bar, not realising that the intended entrance for the accommodation is around the side, which we only saw when we left. As such, we arrived in the bar and felt a bit conspicuous walking through with our luggage while everyone was enjoying a drink. The room was fine, nothing particularly special but clean, spacious and functional. We ate in the bar, enjoying watching the goats pass by over the road, and the food exceeded our expectations. The chef clearly takes pride in the food and you could tell the ingredients and preparation are carefully thought through. We spent a lovely, relaxed evening enjoying dinner and then playing pool, realising that the bar is actually a really welcoming space. The hotel is on a busy road but the sound insulation is excellent. Also the view from our room and the hotel generally is spectacular if the weather co-operates, and you can ignore the road as it did for us. All in all, we were happy with our stay but, looking back at what we paid across our road trip this was our most expensive room and I'm not sure this is justified as the high point was the evening meal which is obviously paid for separately.

Great stay. The only issue was the TV had no digital signal, meaning no free view. It did, however, provide a Roku box, with access to Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, Netflix as well as BBC iPlayer, ITV X, C4 etc.

Very welcoming manager. Excellent situation. Great clean room with views over Loch. Pleasant evening meal.

Absolutely loved everything about Kintail Lodge ! Our room was literally brand new with so many amenities, extremely comfortable with unbeatable view of the loch. We had drinks & dinner at the lodge and enjoyed amazing food and drinks with great service. The next morning walked to Wee Bun house and our group bought almost every irresistible sweet and coffees, just wonderful! Highly recommend!!
