Manali is derived from the Sanskrit word "Manu-Alaya", which means "The abode of Manu (Bird)" also Manali is synonymous with River Streams, Deodar forests, Apple orchards and last but not the least the Majestic snow-capped mountains Of Himalayas. A Mental Picture of Manali is Incomplete without Visualizing the Above, i cannot think of one individual who may have not wanted to visit the Beauty either once or maybe repeatedly during the lifetime. For me i think Manali will now be like an annual Sojourn cause of the sheer Natural Canvas and the Expanse it has to offer unlike any other Hill station in India (The reason i say that is cause where most hill stations Grow and expand like a Mushroom and the residences tower on the mountains and over crowd the main city, Manali is more linear and hence spread out) and every season has its own charm, and i don’t think i can ever get enough of it, But given the lack of Quality Hotels and Resorts was a turndown, plus the Killer airfare from Mumbai to Chandigarh of @ 22k a head and add to that @ 25k for a cab for 4 days, would make you wonder IS IT WORTH IT ??? When you can easily travel to an European country pay a little more stay a lot more The answer all thanks now to ITC Hamsa is a resounding YES, YES and YES Me and my better half travelled to the property in Mid December for our Anniversary and the temperature’s in and around the property were Day: 1 to 5 degrees, Night: 0 to -5 degrees The Property: A: Location: The Boutique Property with @ 45 rooms is located in a breath taking location away from the city madness and more towards the serenity aspect, surrounded by the snow capped mountains and valleys, the moment you get down from your vehicle you don’t want to Rush to the reception, cause you are blown away with the views and you just cannot get enough of it. B: Rooms and Layout: The property is divided in 7 cottages (which look and feel like Swiss and Austrian Chalets) and each cottage has @ 6 rooms of different categories, we were in the club category room with a balcony (which was the absolute highlight as the balcony overlooks the mountains in all its glory) the rooms have a very contemporary and Exquisite design and everything is super functional, the washroom is very spacious with Premium bath fittings, In terms of layout the property is in an Oval/circle format in form of a walking track which goes around all rooms, The reception, restaurant and some other amenities are housed in a stand alone glass house which looks stunning (the reception is cosy with heating and books kept for guests to read and borrow) The Heating in the room and washroom is provided by a Gas based heater which is awesome and does the job and is super slient, should you need extra heating, the staff is happy top help with a plug and play heater, the rooms don’t have air conditioning and im presuming that even during summers you wouldn’t need it but its just a point to note.
