It was my first time in Africa and I encountered heavy rain. I actually only stayed in the hotel for one day and had to move to another camp. The hotel and restaurant were good, but I was really unhappy to encounter the flood. I don't know if the hotel fee included tips. When I left, the driver kept hinting that I should tip.

This is real Safari. It feels like living in a tent, comfortable, hygienic and safe. Every meal is fine dining carefully prepared. In addition to being professional, the service staff are also very attentive. Make you feel truly at home. I have been on safari in so many places, and this is the most unforgettable one. You need to stay at least three nights to enjoy the true Kenyan wilderness Safari experience.

An amazing experience! We have been to the Mara on many occasions but this was the best! Location, facilities, staff and food were all exceptional. A special shout out to Pauline who looked after us so well and to Geoffrey. John P our driver who managed to find 4/5 of the Big Five! Thank you for giving us such a lovely time.

I'll fall short of words to describe our 3 night stay at Intreprid Camp. It was beyond wonderful and only have best memories to take away from the camp. We celebrated our milestone wedding anniversary and couldn't have chosen a better place to stay and experience game drives daily along with incredible meal set up for all 3 meals. It was just splendid. Tons of variety on the menu ( a la carte & buffet ) bursting with flavor. Special shout out to the team - Kenneth at the bar ( wonderful insights on Mara and made amazing cocktails ), Anastacia, Geoffrey who took great care of us during all meals, Debbie, Duncan at the reception - answering all questions and making sure hospitality and service was top notch. I cannot end my review without giving kudos to our guide Samson & his trainee Elvis. Mara and its expanse to experience with Samson was so special. He made sure our game drives at each time were well thought through and executed flawlessly by him with Elvis being a big support. We will be certainly returning to Mara Intrepid Camp to experience everything all over again and cannot recommend a better place to stay, dine and relax. It is truly a gem in the MARA!

We were really surprised about the first class Lodge. Tents, Facilitys, very good Food and most of all wonderful people, who made our stay the best experience since long times. We had awsome gamedrives with Joab, who is so knowledgeable and showed us even a rivercrossing at a time, where crossings normally do not take place. It was a great stay with Joab, our waiters, the barman and all the other lovely people. we never write reviews, but made an exception for this time. And we definitely come back next year.

Great Staff and Service. I have been to Mara Intrepids several times before. In fact, I first came to their camp back in the 1990's. They are committed to excellent service. Tents are spacious and well-maintained. My tent was 12A and it faced the river as do most of the tents. The water running at nights from the river provided a great sound for sleeping. I saw elephants across the river from my front porch and a bush buck outside my tent. Only negative was that there was an odor from pipes--like sewer. Not sure if pipes are vented with fresh water or what. Meals this time were by menu since there were not many people. If they have lots of people, then they do buffets. Meals had usually 3 options, 2 meat dishes and one vegetarian. They do starters and finish with good desserts or cheese board and coffee or tea. The meals were very good. Staff and service was excellent. Our driver and guide for game drives was Joab and he did an excellent job. We saw 3 of the big 5. Did not see leopard or rhino (hard to see in Mara these days). My guests were in Kenya for first time--they loved it. We saw Male lions and saw them eating on a mid-size elephant that had died (not a kill). Other Negative: We did the flying package by Governor's Aviation-- (showed 45 mins) this took almost 1 hour and 45 minutes. Plane made three stops before ours and we even changed planes. Which is okay if we had been told first. Return was only 45 mins. This camp is well situated and only 5 minutes from airstrip. Great location. Definitely high marks. Even though larger camp, it has the feel of smaller camp. My guests were husband and wife and two daughters So they were put in family tent. Said it was great.

We had an absolutely amazing stay and safari experience at Mara Intrepids. This was our second stay at the same lodge and we certainly don't regret having come back! Terry at the Heritage Hotels reservation desk made a great start to the service levels with a very smooth reservation experience. The cab service that he arranged between airports at Nairobi was very prompt and professional. The domestic flights were smooth (there was one change of flight on the way in and a direct flight on the way out but both were operated smoothly and on time). Once we got to Mara Intrepids, the hospitality was impeccable. We had a nice room right by the Talek river - at different points in time during the stay, we could spot a crocodile sun bathing, a hippo taking a dip and a bushbuck curiously looking at the room. The room was fairly large with good amenities. In all aspects of our stay we were so well taken care of - the tent with the oh so wonderful hot water bags at turn down by housekeeping, the wake up visit to the room with coffee/tea, the restaurant staff, the lip smacking food - every little detail was so wonderfully attended to. The restaurant staff even had a little song and dance cake ceremony at our last meal - it really made us feel special. As for the safaris, we couldn't have asked for a better guide than Samson - incredibly knowledgeable about the savanna and its flora and fauna, he made every safari ride an amazing experience for us. He was courteous, friendly and had a wealth of information to share on every ride. He knew the animals in the area like the back of his palm and could predict what they would do next. He always positioned our vehicle to help us get the best view, at the same time, respecting the forest and other jeeps, if any. Thanks to him, we had some amazing sightings and heard some interesting stories of the Mara. The staff attended to our every need- in addition to Samson, some names that we would particularly mention are - Sylvester, Sheila, Geoffery, Chef Francis Bella standing in for Chef Oguma (all from the restuarant), Mary, Debbie (reception), John (housekeeping), Clifford (security), and Gilbert (who helped me with the twist in my ankle). We returned with fabulous wildlife memories which we will cherish for a long time to come. And we are already looking forward to visiting again!
