Scandic Rukahovi
"Good location"
Magical Pond Nature Igloos
"I had a great winter holiday with my family. The food in restaurant Kataja with hotstone was so so delicious and great experience.Breakfast was perfect and healthy. For the nature and views no coment really Magic Place."
Ski-Inn RukaVillage
"Second visit to Ruka and stay at this hotel booked through crystal. Location is brilliant. Meters from the gondola and all the shops and restaurants. Rooms are clean tidy and perfect set up with fridge microwave hob kettle etc, everything but an oven in the 2 bed studio. Welcomed the bath and sauna after a ski. Only real criticisms are that the boot room is a bit tight and whilst there is a bar downstairs, there is no real reception area. Bar and restaurant is western themed and a little dark as a result. Breakfast was basic but nice. Could do with more than an a two slot toaster serving the whole restaurant. If I was staying in Ruka village again I would probably comeback here. Kept checking the web cam each night and saw the northern lights twice from the top of slope 6 behind the gondola, Homemade ring doughnuts from the cafe in the centre of town are not to be missed"
Holiday Club Kuusamon Tropiikki
"Hotel is a bit old. But staff are nice! Lot of facilities. Breakfast is just fair."

Ski-Inn AurinkoRinne
"Absolutely brilliant apartments, clean and well equipped. As a family of 3 we stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and it was plenty big enough. Drying cabinet was excellent and so was the sauna. We were in block c which was just at the bottom of the fist hill so an excellent location. To get to the village it was a walk up a small hill and then you could do the steps (70) up to the village, or take a longer gentle walk round. We will be back loved it x Hairdryer, towels included."
Ski-Inn RukaValley
"Very nice stay, apartment was lovely, modern and clean. We had our own sauna which my husband appreciated, I’m more of a steam room fan. We stayed here with the Canterbury package which was magical but sooo tiring, we would defiantly come back but for longer and sort our own activities so it’s not so full on. The picture iv added of my son falling asleep awkwardly in a chair awaiting his husky ride about sums it up 😂 I can’t even describe the feeling of staying here, walking up to mountains of snow and being on a ski resort, the restaurant cabin had gorgeous food, you did struggle for a table at times though, the breakfast inside the resort itself (you eat elsewhere for breakfast) there were plenty of tables and the selection of food was vast, I loved the porridge. It was nice having all their traditional food which were tasty, filling and warm which is what you need and crave with all the snow. The apartment was a great home from home, you need to drink the tap water, the best ever and so cold! The apartment had everything you needed and our boys lived the high rise bunk bed that easily sleeped 2 children, the tv was a disappoint, I think there was only one English Channel but fortunately the wifi was good. Also we didn’t find out until we left on the coach home that from that hotel you could get a ski lift right into Ruka village! We were gutted we missed this so would defiantly do it next time! Don’t hesitate about booking here, great location, rooms and food, very luxurious."
Hotel Rukatonttu
"We had a family room with a bunk bed that was too small for a 15-year-old. I suspected the chambermaid was on leave herself. She only visited us once in five days, even though we had filled out the form at reception indicating we wanted room cleaning. We had to request fresh towels ourselves at reception. Breakfast was good; it had everything you'd expect. Dinner was also fine, delicious, and the service was friendly."

House of Northern Senses
"If the trip to Laponia was a dream of the decent is of this structure and its owner Timo. Fantastic people who give you a welcome and support throughout the trip (and I broke a lot of boxes, I admit) surreal. The house (I would say the villa) is wonderful: living room with chamber, dining room, top bedrooms, 3 saunas, pool, ice lake...........a dream!"
Wilderness Chalet Kuusamo
Rantaruka Apartment
Iisakki Village
Hotel Royal Ruka
"we shared at the Royal Ruka as part of a package holiday visiting lapland. we stayed for three nights/4 days. The hotel is set in a gorgeous location and very much has scenic and beautiful views of the valley it is situated in, particularly as there had been huge dump of snow the night before we arrived. Considering the carnage that multiple young families can inflict on a hotel, the Royal Ruka's staff took it all in their stride and offered a wonderful clean and well catered experience. The food was a mix of Finnish staples mixed with simple dishes like chicken nuggets and chips for the children. The rooms were clean and tidy, warm and with an inbuilt heated cabinet for drying the various snow suits etc we needed for our trip. All told, id like to thank all of the staff at the Royal Ruka, its a quality establishment that is clearly well loved by its owners."
Hippu Apartment
Vuosselin Helmi
"Facilities: Basic kitchenware and tableware are provided, and there are many cleaning supplies, but some tableware is not clean. Bed sheets and towels are charged per person, or you can bring your own. Shower gel and shampoo are provided. Free parking is available. Cleanliness: Self-cleaning or paid cleaning (49 euros, excluding dishwashing, garbage disposal, and bed making) is available. Self-cleaning includes vacuuming, mopping, cleaning the toilet, washing dishes, garbage disposal, and bed making. Staff will inspect the room after check-out; a 100 euro fine will be imposed for failure to clean properly. Upon check-in, some cups had food residue or coffee stains and were not cleaned properly. There were many loose threads on the bed. Environment: A 30-minute drive from Olranca National Park. There is a mountain bike track nearby. The room was very stuffy in July, reaching 30 degrees Celsius. The ventilation vents were not very effective at cooling down, and there were no windows for ventilation, making it feel like a sauna. The only way to cool down was to leave the door open. Service: A completely self-service rental without a reception desk; you can only contact the host online."
Ski-Inn MastonAitio
"We just stayed for a week at half term booked through Crystal. On arrival the lodge was clean, warm and welcoming. The lodge itself had everything and more we needed for a week’s stay and the location for us was perfect. Very easy walk into the village for shops/restaurants and skiing lessons or alternatively just hop on the ski bus. We skied in and out all week. We loved having the washing machine and dryer to keep our thermals fresh and returned home with very little washing. Dish cloths and washing up liquid and shower gel all provided, just pack laundry detergent. As someone else suggested it would be nice to be able to watch Netflix/Disney etc on the TV or an evening when relaxing. Would we return? Absolutely, already rebooked for 2027."
