Camp Alta Kiruna

Group of 10 adult family members booked 2 small cabins and 1 single cabin for 4 nights. Cabins were booked a month in advance Clean cabins, near lake. Facilities were OK Overall a nice experience Price was good, we paid 58.00 Cdn dollars per night per person. Especially since you had the option of using the cookout hut and the sauna for free. That was an awesome perk If I were to book again, would request cabins with restroom One small cabin had two single beds in one end of cabin and a bunk bed in other end. Bunk bed room was a little tight for two adults. Had a restroom The other cabin had a queen bed and then there was a single bed in the living room with a fold out couch bed that could hold two. No restroom Single cabin was OK, but did not have a restroom We bought our linens and price for linens was inline with other places we stayed Cabins need screening on windows for mosquitoes There was one clothes washing machine and no electric dryer. There was a clothes rack for air drying. Expect line ups at washing machine Book a sauna in advance for your group. There is also a public sauna (floating). Wood for sauna can be purchased at site. Lake water is exceptionally cold after sauna, thou it was August. Do not jump in, very big rocky bottom and not that deep

Me and my girlfriend where on a roadtrip through Sweden and Norway. Because roads in Sweden are Long and bumpy we checkt in far to Late. No Problem, a friendly french man welcomed us with a welcoming "Guten Abend". The owner speaks french, german, englisch and so on, Communication is easy. 200SEK for a tendplace was an amazing Price as well. Also there is a kitchen with everything in it. If you have Wood you can use the two Saunas for free, a Guide on how to make fire is also available, if you don't have Wood you can buy it there. Showers etc. where great as well. Nothing to say about that. All in all We had the most amazing stay!

Two nights in a tent on our way to Norway. Camping field was small but not overbooked. The kitchen was clean, showers a bit old-fashioned but worked. Sauna was good. And no mosquitos! A tip for birdwatchers: this seems to be a good place to observe waxwings.

Picturesque place with many great trips, lovely and helpful staff and lots of local experiences to do! The camp is very clean and it is located by the beautiful lake. It has saunas, fireplace, lots of equipment to rent and pretty cabins. Best for 2-7 days at any time of the year!

We have been to Camp Alta once before, loved it and wanted to come back for a whole week. But unfortunately regretted it and realized the accomodation works well only for very short stays. We found the camp very neglected: poor cleaning in the cabin at check-in and in the common space, in the kitchen basic items were missing (NO bowls nor spoons, so impossible to have a soup or cereals, the pans all broken, the toaster out of order but still around the kitchen). The most problematic thing was our bed. We booked a two-people (adults) cabin, and ended up with a 120-cm bed. The pictures were taken with a wide angle and the bed looked ok, so we were very surprised and disappointed when we found a tiny bed. We asked if a camping bed could be added, but they could not help us. As a result, we didn't sleep for a whole week, which is definitely problematic. Check the size of the bed before booking anything. I realized only once we were there that in their official website you can find the size of the bed (not on ***********), but still, a bed of 120cm should not for any reason be found in a two-people accomodation.
