This wasn't what we were expecting. First it is a historical building. Love the architecture if the place, which made it interesting. Rooms subpar...very old and bed not very comfortable. No elevator and of course our rooms were on the second...or maybe third floor as you have to walk up a steep set of stairs just to get to the lobby to check in. Our room we requested was available, but for our friends who requested a room above standard didn't get it as they gave it away to a family. We did have soap in the bathroom but no shampoo, but the front desk was able to bring some up to us. Our nightstand lamps were missing a lightbulb in one, and the other still had the packaging wrap around the stem of the lamp. They did have a fridge in the room, but we didn't need to use it. Mainly 220, but they did have a converter in the room for 110 so we could charge our phones. As for the area, we were not comfortable going out to explore. Very sketchy area. There was a grocery store across the street but we didn't feel comfortable going in there even though we were traveling as a group. They did have a restaurant so we could get food since it was late. Food was okay. Nothing to write home about. Breakfast was available in the morning, but we didn't eat...just coffee. Overall, okay place to stay if it's one night before going to the airport. If I was staying there a few days I wouldn't be very happy staying there. Next trip I'll pay the extra to stay at a resort where I feel more comfortable. Staff were friendly so I want to make that point. They were very nice.
