Great location, large spacious room, basic facilities perfectly delivered Clean and tidy throughout There were pricier big branded chains nearby and took a gamble on an independent and it more than matched them

A good-value hotel where we stayed for three nights. Our room and bed was comfortable and spacious and the bathroom large and modern. Could have done with a bedside table on either side of the bed, but the chair doubled up. Felt understaffed at times, Nick was great, but on his own for most of the time we were there and doubled up on check-ins/running the bar and answering guest requests (ironing board/extra pillows/tea/milk please). STAR employee. Decent restaurants in walking distance as were all the centre attractions and that was with a man on crutches!!

Having booked a mini cruise from Hull to Holland decided to travel up a night before the hotel was very very good value for money,. I didn’t know what to expect really but I was very impressed with how clean the room was the bathroom was nice and spacious too, tea and coffee facilities were plentiful plus the room had a TV, The reception staff were so friendly and helpful, it had free parking which was a real bonus if travelling by car and close enough to the centre of Hull and Ferry Port it just took a couple of mins to walk into the city centre, have also stayed on my return from the mini cruise definitely stay there again with a doubt when next travelling with the ferry Discounts available if book direct from the website of hotel.

I needed a comfortable place to sleep and somewhere to park my car in Hull city centre, close to the theatre, for a couple of days. The Carmichael ticked those boxes perfectly!

The Carmichael Hotel is in a fantastic location, less than 5 minutes and you are in the centre of the city, less than 10 and you arrive at the beautiful Hull Marina. The hotel is not for those seeking luxury accommodation although it has everything the traveller requires. The beds are extremely comfortable and each room has A/C. which was necessary during our stay. I cannot comment on breakfast as we ate out each day .. I can say that the cooking smells emanating from the kitchen were divine though. What sets this hotel apart is the quality of staff, each and every person we encountered was warm, friendly, super helpful and kind… I think we received the best Yorkshire hospitality ever. Nothing was too much trouble…an extra pillow, a pot of tea… each and every request was met with a genuine smile. Definitely a place to stay if you are in Hull…10/10 on all fronts A special shout out to Dean… your kindness enhanced our trip , thank you 🙏

We were not given the room we booked. We were told ******* had changed the room type before our arrival.We accepted the room given and were refunded the price difference. There was a problem with breakfast on the first morning,due to illness this could not be served. Breakfast service on the second day was poorly organised. There were no staff around to explain the procedure to us.
The room we had was clean and cool. The staff were friendly .

One nights stay at the hotel as we were going to the New Theatre. Location wise the hotel was perfect, right around the corner and walking distance to the city centre and museums etc. Breakfast was hot but average- no butter on the toast and not offered either. Paid £12 per person for breakfast yet most choices on the menu came under £10. Room was clean yet compact. Due to being so small it became quite hot however has good air con so it cooled quickly. The tv placement on the side wall is not the best place to watch either. Overall it was a ok stay, however anything over 1 night I would probably choose another hotel.
