"No dinner had to order KFC although it was included in my booking, no TV channels as on their hotel website with constant re-booting and frozen screens, hours to respond to calls to front desk if and when the phone was eventually answered, no-one who could make an omelette with tomato, mushroom and bacon at included breakfast, cold coffee left on breakfast table, duty manager non-responsive when staff look for them, shower head against the wall so impossible not to hit your head when showering. Room was next to some service toom and I was woken up around 4:00am with someone banging a hammer or something. Awful experience at a R1750 per night pricepoint. I think I heard about 25 “we are so sorry” in the one day stay with no-one capable or competent to fix the issues. Worst hotel stay ever in 40 years I can remember."

"It's disappointing too drive a long road and arrive and find the hotel entrance is over a 100 meters round the corner with no information. It's a beautiful place on first sight. Rooms are beautiful and big. Just 'a pity there are no work station to work on. If you have to work on a computer it's not easy sitting on the bed. Was disappointed to see a 4 star hotel with no flat sheet on the bed. Was also very disappointed the next morning to see the state of the wall in front of my room. Paint / plaster coming off. The garden also can do with some cleaning up. Also a very bad smell coming from the shower drain. Staff was friendly and helpful. The bed in the room was very comfortable. The extraction fan in the bathroom makes a lot of noise when putting it on and off. Cleaning staff need some training. Lots of dust in the room. With seating outside your bathroom window you have lot's of noise as well. Not great rooms by reception. Management need to catch a wake up"

"It was an initial search for the entrance to the place. The area is an initial shock'. On the second day there where a person cutting his hear across from our room on the stoep. The breakfast supplied in the morning was good."

"If you're interested in the history of Kimberley and South Africa, this stop is a must. Food was excellent and service exceptional. Many of the historic pieces are still displayed in the halls and the bar. Two large billiard tables provide hours of entertainment. We truly enjoyed it."

"Dirty, smelly hotel that has reached it’s sell by date. This hotel is so run down. Rooms and bathrooms are disgusting. It has blocked drains. Service at breakfast poor. Coffee machine out of order. Dirty plates and cutlery not removed. No complementary water in rooms. Smelly and disgusting towels. This hotel is just bad bad bad."

"The yard is well taken care of which allows for sitting outside the room. Rooms are exquisitely clean and very comfortable. I love the privacy that the wall gives to guests. Overall a wonderful place."
