This is our 2nd visit to this hotel. The must of changed the management. The hotel parking lot was dirty, garbage was all over the place. They need to put a garbage can near the front entrance of the hotel. The breakfast was your usual food. The staff were not friendly as well. I asked for cream for my coffee and the lady seemed very bothered by me asking. Half of the weights were missing in the gym area. We had a storm roll in on day 1 of our trip, the sand was still piled up on the stairs to go to the beach, a lady actually fell down them. Nobody cleaned them by day 6. The outside decks were littered with broken furniture and garbage! I’ll be finding a new hotel next time I visit.

There are absolutely things about this TownPlace Suites that I would like to see changed or that I didn't like, however I'm still giving 5 stars because of the location and the setup they have here and because I personally would go back without a second thought. First, some of the issues I have: The room layout puts one bed very close to the air conditioner and because they have the old-fashioned hotel style AC units, that leaves at least one person getting directly blasted with cold air all night. Using pool towel clips to put a towel over one side of the vent did help but reduced the efficacy of the AC and made the room warmer for everyone else. Breakfast is nice (and free) but the setup of it seems to be done as if this is a business hotel and not a beach front hotel. The cereal choices were all boring adult cereals, the bread for toast was VERY whole grain (as in it had pieces of grains in it), and the only milk they had was white milk (for example). Adding a small amount of more kid-friendly breakfast elements would go a long way. The outdoor pool is sheltered from the wind by the sand bank and gets really hot in the sun, a lightweight shade over the whole (or part of) the deck would probably be a welcomed addition by most people. As for what's great about this place: The location includes a beachfront pool + small snack shack with beach access which is directly across the road from the hotel itself. This gives the best of both worlds with beachfront access as well as having better parking and more room on the hotel property. On non-weekends the price is super affordable for a beachfront Marriott property. Not to mention the only Marriott property on the Outer Banks. It's very close to great food options, many walkable. Stuff for both adults and kids is easy to access. It's also not far to many interesting sightseeing or cultural things to see. All-in-all, I would love to see some minor changes but even with some flaws this is definitely a 5 star option.

Least favorite Marriott of all times. Been a Marriott/Bonvoy member for decades and have stayed in dozens of their hotels. This is my least favorite. The ‘included’ breakfast is among the worst I’ve ever had anywhere. Tried all the different options until settling for yogurt and cereal since they were brought in from outside manufacturers. Even the ‘bold’ coffee is surprisingly weak. The carpeting in the hallways is in dire need of cleaning. The only upside is the location but the prices (even off-season) are disproportionately high for the quality. Finally, the WiFi is painfully slow and drop outs are exceedingly frequent. Cannot recommend

I would like to thank the front desk staff, Triston, who helped secure an additional night and made the move effortless. Also, Venessa who helped located items I left behind. The staff and the accommodations made our time there enjoyable. We will return should the need arise.

This is our regular to stay when vacationing in The OBX! Good walking distance to things, pool and beach within walking distance right across road. Price is represented to ocean front! Easy parking. Hotel was clean, they do have laundry but a couple machines were out of order. Nothing too special about the breakfast. Nice outdoor areas to sit, grill, fire pit.

We have been coming to the TownPlace Suites Outer Banks every summer since 2021. It has been a solid place for us to take our annual family beach vacation, with good service, good rooms, easy beach access, and a standard breakfast. Absent some minor issues, we never had any problems there and enjoyed our annual trip there. However, this year was different and, frankly, unacceptable: There is a lovely outdoor pool on property. We have thoroughly enjoyed it in the past. It's a great place to stop before going to the beach. It used to have a door which required an access code to get in; this way the hotel ensured that guests only would use it. This year, the door was gone, and we noticed that the pool was much more crowded than in years past. People were even bringing dogs and letting them swim in the pool. Not wanting to cause a stir, I initially let it be. Then, one day in particular, the pool was overcrowded, as was the food stand. It took over an hour to get service from the food stand because a family of 20 individuals was monopolizing the area. All the sudden, one member of the family shouted "THE HOUSE IS READY! WE CAN GO!" and they all departed quickly. No single member of that family was staying at the hotel; they were just using the pool until their rental house was ready. I mentioned this to the food stand attendant who said that ever since the access door was removed "the locals and renters treat this as a community pool." I was flabbergasted. A paid benefit for hotel customers was unregulated and was being used by countless other people for free and without the right to do so. AND they were bringing their animals into the pool as well! When we informed the front-desk agent, she shrugged her shoulders and said "Yeah, we've been informed about this." When I asked her if anything was being done, she sat silent. We were told room service/housekeeping would occur every 2-days. We were told of NO OTHER restrictions on housekeeping. On our 3rd day there we left our hotel room at approximately 10:45 AM, and arrived back at approximately 5:30 PM, expecting to have new towels, our beds made, etc. Unfortunately, it was clear housekeeping had not come in at all. We spoke to the front desk attendant, who seemed uninterested in helping us, and she just said, "you left your room too late." I was a bit stunned, as we were never informed of housekeeping stopping after a certain time, and 10:45 AM is hardly a "late" time for housekeeping. She could not tell me a specific time for "too late." She gave us new towels, and said she'd put in a note for our room to be cleaned the next day; this did not happen. We made sure to leave our room BEFORE 10:00 AM, and housekeeping was still in the hallways. I confirmed with one of the housekeepers that we were on the list to be cleaned that day. We came back to a stack of 4 new towels sitting on our stovetop, and NOTHING else done. After going to the front-desk 3 separate times, they finally cleaned the room after

Quick trip to OBX
Fun quick trip to ObX. First time staying at this hotel and it was very nice! Enjoyed the location and all the hotel amenities. Modern, clean, large room, comfortable beds and a great little kitchenette!

I like so much, I lowered a star because the room above me was loud and obnoxious and the bed didn't seem as comfortable as before.
