The Sea Ranch Resort

My visit was average. Front desk person (AA male evening shift) was very pleasant. My room was okay however my sister's room was unpleasantly odorous with an unexpected portable humidifier in the room. We enjoyed our breakfast in the hotel restaurant and the waitress was very nice. The wedding food was just okay. The hotel needs to definitely upgrade overall.

If you’ve ever dreamed of camping indoors, congratulations, you’ve found your paradise! Why pitch a tent when you can just book a room here and enjoy that “wilderness vibe” from your soggy carpet? Ceiling tiles dangle overhead like they are ready to fall. The “ocean view”? Sure, if you can see through the thick layer of grime on the window. It’s like looking at the beach through a dirty fish tank. The carpet? Let’s just say it tells a story. One with dogs, accidents, and a cleaning crew that gave up years ago. Don’t expect fresh towels or a made bed either. They don’t bother cleaning the room daily. For extra excitement, our first night we didn’t even have a lock on our door. Nothing says “welcome” like realizing anyone could walk right in. To their credit, they did send someone up an hour later to install one. And don’t forget the wildlife! Millions of bugs hold nightly meet-ups right outside your door, buzzing happily around the vent. They are everywhere in the room. Dresser drawers, walls, sink, etc. We also tried the bistro. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to chew a leather belt shaped like tuna, you’re in luck. On the positive side, the bar staff was actually very friendly. Too bad they were the highlight of the entire stay.

My wife and I spent four nights here while exploring the Outer Banks. We were in a Ocean Front room which had a nice balcony. The room had a refrigerator and a microwave which was nice. We had two queen beds although we only slept in one of them. The bed was comfortable, and the room met all our needs. We were on the top floor and the only issue there is the elevator is a bit slow but no big deal. It's about a mile to the Wright Brothers memorial and about 30 minutes to Roanoke Island and the Cape Hatteras National Seashore which we visited. The price was reasonable and the unit was clean.

Worst vacation experience I have ever had. I picked this hotel because it had decent reviews and the location was good. Booked a room for 4 nights. Upon arrival the hotel room had a musky odor and the temperature of the room was 80 degrees. Gave them the benefit of the doubt that the temperature would decrease after turning thermostat down. Woke up the next morning to the room being 85. Complaint was given to front desk & hours later had to complain about nobody coming to room to check on air conditioning. They flushed the pipes and temperature went down to 80. Next morning 82 and another Complaint given. Again, they flushed the line and temperature went down to 78. An hour later temperature back to 85. Complained to front desk again and they gave me another room. That room was even hotter. Went again around 10pm and asked if there was any rooms with the same accommodation that actually had air conditioning. They had 1 on the 2nd floor of their main building but not ocean front and much much smaller. Due to the heat I changed rooms but lost the bigger room with ocean fron and the room was in much worse shape cosmetically. Manager never contacted me back with money back on the difference of the room cost and no compensation or apology was ever given for the 1st room and 2 nights we stayed in the sauna room. This place is in desperate need of repair and upgrades along with an exterminator. Room had bugs, refrigerator wouldn’t cool enough to put food in and the carpet was moist.

Easily the worst vacation I’ve had in my life roaches everywhere room 90 degrees literally haven’t slept a day since we have been here. Please no one ever books this trash ass hotel it should be shut down immediately!!! Employees lie and tell you what you want to hear ! Can’t leave ur balcony door open because the roaches will literally flow right in . Driving home on the 4th because I can’t take it no more but what a trash ass place

The property needs some updating. Our door to the balcony would not lock and whistled all night with the wind. The air return grate was loose and made a noise all night until my husband tightened it. Staff was very friendly.
