Outer Banks Motor Lodge

I can’t say enough good things about the Outer Banks Motor Lodge in Kill Devil Hills. Linda, the manager who runs the office, is absolutely phenomenal. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every guest has an exceptional experience. No matter the hour, she’s always available and ready to help with anything you might need. The housekeeping team has remained consistent over the past several years—and they are truly the best I’ve ever seen. The rooms are spotless, and with the recent updates, they’re even more comfortable and inviting. The staff’s flexibility and dedication really stood out during the recent hurricane. Communication was clear, timely, and reassuring. They made sure every guest was well-informed and had all necessary supplies, which was incredibly appreciated during a stressful time. Huge kudos to the entire team at Outer Banks Motor Lodge. This place is a hidden gem, and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

We have stayed here many years now. Unfortunately we each year we have you watched the decline of a diamond in the rough. We have stayed in the same room almost every time. We have watched the once freshly remodeled rooms turn to something that is an embarrassment to the owner. From the ceiling covered with stains from more than a year ago. The shower curtain that allows water to run all over the floor because it is too short. The rust specks all over the refrigerator. To the catch pan under the kitchen sink. Each morning this year we were treated to sand toy graveyard. They layed for 3 days in the exact same spot along with stray shoes and whatnot. To put it simply we went from staying at a nicely remodeled motel to a dump. The one good thing left is the house keeping staff is spot on. I wish I could recommend this place but not anymore… goodbye old friend.

Amazing stay! Linda was AWESOME! She went out of her way to keep us updated on Hurricane Erin -got the green light and luckily enough we were able to keep our plans for our vacation and stay at the OBX Motor Lodge !! Great oceanfront location and super clean! Decor is definitely more upgraded than others at the price !! Linda, you rock and we hope to see you in November !!

It was a great place to stay, the staff was awesome. Close to shopping and grocery stores. Will definitely stay here from now moving forward.

We had higher expectations based on the reviews. We were checked in by a virtual assistant and my room card envelope said room 109 and we tried getting in that room for like 20 minutes and we couldn’t and there was no real staff available at around 10 PM. Then I got a text message that said my room was 121. It was very frustrating. Ok stay overall.
