The Rafter's Gastropub

No lock for bathroom & main door lock was not perfect.

We reserved an area with dart board and finger food for a group trip, and it was perfect. Staff were really good fun and even joined in a sing-song at the end of the night. Would definitely recommend Rafter's for a group night out. Note, we didn't stay overnight here but I didn't want to dock marks for that.

Stayed here for my son’s stags and have never met a ruder person than the owner Gerry. From arrival to check out he was obnoxious and had an agressive approach to dealing with us.. I had read a few things online about him beforehand and thought maybe it was an exaggeration but I can honestly say it wasn’t . The group of lads that were with us are no hassle only there to enjoy themselves and have a laugh but found it very uncomfortable around him. He even threw a 30th party out of a private room as they were singing .. honestly do not give this man your money he definitely doesn’t appreciate it😡

I organised my brothers stag in Kilkenny and needed a comfortable, central location that could accommodate a group of 18 at a reasonable enough price to suit everyone's budgets while still being a nice place. Very happy with my decision to go with Rafters: the location was smack bang in the city just a stones throw from Kilkenny castle, the rooms were all nice sized and very clean, with comfortable beds/linen and hot showers. The pub downstairs (as well as the rooftop terrace) made it perfect for a meeting point and a base before our weekends activity's too. Throughout the whole booking process Gerry was very friendly and accommodating, even when the numbers chopped and changed right up until two days before the stag. The free breakfast included was generous and tasty and hit the spot, and while we didn't have the evening meal as we were booked elsewhere, Gerry very kindly gave us a nice amount of finger food in place of the meal in the early afternoon before heading out for the day, which went down very well. All the staff behind the bar were lovely, and overall the whole group felt it was a great place to anchor ourselves for the weekend. For anyone organising a stag or hen or any large group in Kilkenny, I don't hesitate to recommend Rafters! :)

Their internet and our roaming services would not work on any of our four devices and they couldn’t fix it. Because we needed to work while there we had to book a new hotel after just being there a few hours. The owner was completely unreasonable and would not credit us anything from our $400! He basically stole our money. Worse possible experience in Ireland! Do t ever go there!!!!

Just back from a stay at Rafters. Had a twin room it was clean and comfortable, had steak on stone there for dinner which was very tasty as was breakfast the following morning. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Looking forward to staying there again
