Kilkea Castle

Our stay at Kilkea Castle was everything we dreamed of for our bucket-list "sleep in a European castle"! The staff was incredible and helped us with anything we asked for - including on site booking like meals & spa but also help with off-site food recs and bookings. We stayed in the Fitzgerald Suite for Halloween night which was on the priceir side but well worth it for the stunning views, claw tub in the castle tower, and the overall castle vibe of the room. The grounds were incredible! We enjoyed exploring the gardens during the day and at night under the moonlight. All of our meals were great too (2 breakfasts and 1 dinner at the clubhouse). Everything about this location is dreamy!!

My husband and I got married at Kilkea Castle in June 2025. Our wedding was the best time of our lives, and we know it would not have been the same anywhere else!! We had 110 guests, many of whom stayed on property in various locations, and everyone had an incredible experience. We stayed Thursday - Saturday, and wanted to stay even longer! There was so much to do, the food was always great and all of the rooms were beautiful! We were able to do our rehearsal dinner on site at Hermiones the night before the wedding, which was so convenient (and delicious)! Before our rehearsal dinner, my Husband and his groomsman were able to play some golf, and they all absolutely loved the course. My bridesmaids and I had afternoon tea which was so much fun! The Spa was also a huge hit among many of our guests! The day of the wedding was beyond what I could have imagined. Everyone we worked with at Kilkea was kind and thoughtful. They worked so hard to make sure we had the best time possible. My bridesmaids and I got ready that morning in The Willow Lodge room which we had booked for the weekend. The Lodge was excellent and there was enough spaced for 16 of us to get ready!! The ceremony was so picturesque, the rose garden is stunning and the view of the castle is unreal. Everything from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception was just perfect!! The drinks, dinner and desserts were 10/10! That night we stayed in a suit in the castle and it was such a special room! We felt like a King and Queen I would definitely recommend getting married at Kilkea!! (( Or just staying there for a magical experience! )) We’re looking forward to going back in the future!

After a busy week in Ireland for our wedding, we appreciated a few days in the serene countryside, just the two of us. Kilkea Castle offered a chill space to unwind, but with enough activities to keep us entertained. The spa is fantastic, the falconry experience offered an unforgettable splurge, and the food was excellent. We had made a reservation for a "fancy" honeymoon dinner at the higher-end 1180 restaurant, but enjoyed the more casual Hermione's so much on the first night we re-booked our celebratory dinner there. Only glitch was another guest banging on our door at 2 a.m., not knowing she had the wrong room. That led to a sleepless night, but we certainly can't blame the hotel for another guest's mistake.

Perfect spot that’s affordable with good golf. The castle was beautiful, wish we could have stayed longer and in one of the castle rooms. The lodge rooms were huge so I wish they had bigger beds like two fulls instead of twins.

We stayed here for a wedding in the summer, the views around the castle were fantastic, the grounds are vast, and plentiful. Staff were very helpful and attentive, would highly recommend a stay here!
