This is our annual family shopping trip and part of what it makes it so special is the welcome we receive year after year from Beata & all the wonderful staff. No request is too much trouble and food and drinks are always excellent. The value for money with their loyalty off is excellent and we have already booked for 2026!

This hotel is exceptional in every way. We are 3 life long friends and decided to meet half way between our respective homes …..and so we met and stayed at Silken Thomas for one night! We stayed in Room 5…..a cosy warm newly renovated room and we loved it! We arrived early and availed of their homemade mushroom soup in the restaurant. It was delicious. Later that evening we enjoyed a 3 course meal plus wine in the same restaurant (Library Room)! The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were very attentive to our needs. Our breakfast the following morning was also to a very high standard. The temp outside was only 1C that day and night but the hotel itself was oh so warm and cosy. The room was spotless and the shower was new and fab! The only thing we noticed that’s a minus was….the main door into the room 5 was lopsided and a deep gap under the door was present (feeling the Cold Corridor Breeze)! We stuffed the door gap with a Bath Towel! The carpenter-joiner needs to heighten the saddle board or? Add a Draught excluder to the bottom of the door! It’s a minor detail but the gap is large!! Thanks for the spotlessly clean room and thanks to the wonderful cleaning staff. We will be back in 2026. All the best. Sandra and pals.

My wife and I arrived in Dublin early, rented a car and settled in Kildare for a night of rest to catch up on our sleepless plane ride from the US. We arrived hours before our check in time. Treated ourselves to a nice breakfast at the Silken Thomas Restaurant. Our room was ready early and a lovely lady escorted us to our room. It was very clean, we had a comfortable night sleep. It was exactly what we needed. The Silken Thomas is located in the middle of the town and walking distance to some of the local attractions.

I've been coming to Silken Thomas and Kildare Town since 2015, several times per year. For us it's like coming back home and that's the feeling the amazing staff of Silken Thomas makes you feel any single visit. There is always something new, new spaces and new facilities. Great food and beers, great live music in the evening. And again, what makes everything even better are the women and men on the staff, simply the best. If I had to choose one place in the world to stay, it would be the Silken Thomas.

I had to maker a modification to my booking to add an extra family member - this was handled without any fuss and very quickly. Receptionist was very helpful and polite on the phone giving me plenty time. The accommodation was very spacious and very well laid out - the decor was super. Had an excellent meal and breakfast with very good choice on the menu and great service - very well looked after. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely fantastic hotel! We were pleasantly surprised by our beautiful room, it was very spacious, very clean, very comfortable. The bathroom was also fab!! This was a favourite hotel from this trip. We wished that we had stayed longer. The location was great for us and the hotel has lots of parking.
