The staff at this Hampton Inn seems to try especially hard to accommodate their guests in spite of a few annoyances that a guest might experience in their stay here. That makes all the difference and compelled this reviewer to give them 4 stars rather that what what arguably could have been just three for this particular visit. Probably most annoying was the TV reception cutting in and out (mostly out)) the night of the presidential debate. The service interruptions were likely due to a fierce rainstorm which had settled over Key Largo for about an hour— right during the debate. However, the problem seemed to occur anytime it rained during our stay —which was fairly often. Then, there was the lack of phone service due to the start of a renovation at the hotel. A cell phone is a must now for communication with the hotel. The good breakfast did make up for much of the annoyances due to the diligence and care of staff member Norma. She was extremely attentive and made sure the breakfast items were well-stocked, nicely presented, good quality, and the area very clean. This spacious breakfast area was unique for a Hampton Inn. Finally, the staff was particularly attentive at checkout by alerting the front desk that my wife had left her personal pillow in the room and were already retrieving it for us as we were checking out at the desk. That was very much appreciated and demonstrated this Hampton Inn Key Largo’s sincere care for their guests.
