Rooms at the Ritz Complex

Jesus Christ, this is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. There is a rotten raw sewage smell everywhere, its full of steep steps, the shower door is on backwards making it awkward to access toiletries, they provide one not very nice liquid but I’m not sure was it body wash or shampoo so I brought my own but there was nowhere to stand it except on the floor which meant bending and hitting the wall. The sink is so small when you run the water it splashes out on the floor. But by far the worst thing was the bed. You can feel the springs and they are super hard and sore. I thought about moving to the floor it was so bad but the floor was dirty, definitely would not take your shoes off to walk around. The hotel has no food function and is miles from connected public transport, they have seedy chippers and pubs nearby but it felt so dodgy, so unsafe. And the absolute horror was the weird light left on in the room like some alien radioactive material glowing through the night. It was impossible to sleep but even when you thought you’d found a sort of comfortable spot in between the springs with your head covered in a shirt to cut out the light the noise from the road is appalling. Stay away. Don’t stay here

Would rather drive 2 hours home than stay again Different from advertised. We had no idea how small the room would be. There wasn’t enough room to move around the bed easily. The bathroom was surface clean but dirty when you looked closer. The outside terrace floor was unsafe to walk on with gaps beneath the fake grass which felt unsupported. There was no food. It was very loud. Staff disappeared sometime in the evening and did not reappear before we left. The bed was small and we could not get comfortable. We would have left if there had been somewhere else available nearby. The “long life” milk had reached the end of its life. The check in lady was pleasant but we never saw her again. I would rather drive 2 hours home than stay here again.

The room was quite small but very clean and well decorated. Shower was good and spacious. All in all good value.

Inexpensive and clean Good base for just a bed. A few eateries and a pub to hand. Bit of a contractors hotel Clean and functional.

My difficulty were all mine own really having a walking and standing problem so distance carrying case and bits the length of the building back and front and the width was a bit of a struggle. No meals were on site so cannot comment, what staff there was were very helpful.

Ideal work stay place. Staff pleasant. Rooms adequate sized. Not all rooms have USB so worth packing a plug
