Days Inn by Wyndham Kemah

The best thing I can say about this hotel is the guy that checked us in was nice. From the moment we walked in I knew we made a mistake. We are used to staying along the Texas coast so we understand the humidity and salt make it a constant battle with maintenance. However it didn’t seem like the lobby even had air conditioning, there was a leak in the lobby ceiling and buckets everywhere, and it smelled like mildew. We got into the room and I was relieved at first because I could feel the cold air from the ac so I knew it was working. Clearly the floors aren’t cleaned often. There was hair and a couple of little black bugs on bathroom floor. The bathtub and no drain plug connected, just a hole. The shelf that used to be in the shower looks like it was knocked off and they just left the glue on the wall where it was. Commode was older and has seen some action. The couch in the sitting area just needs to be thrown away, it smelled old. I don’t know how to explain that smell, you just know the smell. Pass it up and pay a little more for better place.

When we pulled up we weren’t expecting much from the outside. Glad we gave it a chance. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and it was very clean.
