Keflavik Micro Suites

We could smell a very strong fishy smell in the corridor before we even opened our apartment door. When we walked into the room it made us gag it was so bad. We opened all windows and tried to contact the owners but they did not respond until the following day after we had left for the airport home. We gave them the opportunity to visit and smell it for themselves and they didn’t respond. They tried to say it was the geothermal water even though we had not run water and the smell was not the light Sulphur smell you can get when you run a tap in Iceland. I think they were trying to insult our intelligence. It was the dreadful fishy smell you get from toilet drains and it was coming up out of the shower drain. I told them I would be wanting a full refund and they have refused. They said, This case has been discussed by management and we hereby decline your refund request. Not sure what they have exactly discussed as they have not engaged with me as they probably think we will never stop there again and are going to write them a BAD review so why bother giving us a refund. The stay was booked through ******* and I have raised the issue with them too who phoned the owners and got the same negative response that we got saying we are not getting a refund and we can write a bad review. Clearly they have no morals and are happy to scam people out of money in their sub standard not fit for purpose apartment. The disgusting fishy smelling room we stayed in was room 101

I flew back for one night in Iceland so I decided to stay close to the airport. The micro suites is all self service. There is no one to meet you or help you. I didn’t have any problems getting into my room. The room is tiny, but that’s what micro means. Still it was comfy and had everything yuh need for one night. Lots of places to go eat in walking distance. Getting there from the airport is easy because you can get a taxi from the airport. Getting back to the airport is the problem. No one to call you a taxi. This you have to figure out yourself and it was a problem. Lots of the taxis do not want to come get you since you are so close to the airport. I reached out to 3 or 4 different taxis, some did not respond and the others would not come. I did reach out to the email that micro suites sent explaining how to get into the room. They did respond and said they could not help with that and to call the local number. I had already tried that. So just keep that in mind when booking the hotel. The hotel itself was fine. No issues with the room or getting in.

Easy and nicely appointed. Found it way to hot at night and no fans to make sleeping comfortable.

Nice room, no Airconditioning for warm summer stay It’s in a great location in town but no air conditioning and very warm in the room. Had to have the window open all night and it was still difficult to sleep. There’s a lot of street noise until after midnight when you have the window opened.

It worked great having the room key in a lock box for us to access. The room was clean and updated. We were close to many restaurants. Every worked great. I would recommend this place. We stayed for an early flight the next morning. Everything went smooth.
