Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Keene

My son recently relocated to Keene, and since he had just moved in to a new house we decided to stay at Hampton Inn for our visit. I believe this was our first time staying at a Hampton Inn, and we were not overly impressed. There were certainly a number of positives: the staff was friendly and accommodating, the electronic check in/out and using the app for our room key worked perfectly, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom appears to have been remodeled and was fine. But there were also some things that bugged us: the entire hotel could use a makeover and a good cleaning; the carpets were worn and dirty in the elevators, hallways, and in certain parts of our room. There was trash piled on and around the trashcans by the elevators on our floor. Our room on the second floor was also fairly noisy; I had to turn off the A/C system because the loud fan kept waking us up, and on Saturday morning there was a lot of noise coming from the car dealership or whatever auto repair shop was directly behind us--I suspect it would have been quieter on the front side of the hotel. Breakfast was fine, but the staff didn't do a good job keeping up with refilling oatmeal and other items as they were used, nor did they keep up with cleaning the breakfast area as guests came and went. None of this would have bothered us too much except that the rates at this hotel are high compared to, say, a Holiday Inn Express with comparable features and amenities. I expected better.

Carpet was nasty and sticky. Breakfast area out of condiments for oatmeal x 3 days. Night clerk sleeps at desk. Day manager wears wrinkled and dirty looking shirts

Newer property, well maintained with a very friendly staff. Great stay for the many Rail Trails and history available in Keene. Highly recommend👍

The room was well appointed and very clean. The free breakfast offered something for everyone and was very good. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

Good sized room, well maintained common areas, cordial service and a very nice breakfast buffet.

I have to give this place a one star you can tell by looking at the grounds. It needs new management from trash in the entranceway to old Christmas decorations scattered on the ground, but the real issue was when I went to my room the office chair was broken when asked for a replacement the front desk said every singleoffice chair was broken in the hotel and there was nothing they could do. That is totally unacceptable for somebody who is in sales and travels you need that office space to hear that every single chair was broken. I will never return.
