Adk Trail Inn

Appreciated being able to be able to book a quick midweek overnight stay online the day of. Never directly interacted with anyone here as I came late and left early. However, the main lodge looked inviting upon my arrival. I appreciated the extremely simple after hours check-in and before hours check-out and was very pleasantly surprised, by the brown bag packed to-go breakfast. Not fancy, but exactly what I needed on my way to the trail. It was also great to be able to park steps in front of my room and not trek in and out of a building. The one downside is that it is right off the road, so you do hear road noise from the room. (As the owners are obviously aware and provide ear plugs.) My room was well appointed with a mini fridge and microwave. It was laid out slightly oddly with the sink outside the bathroom on a weird platform. The only major negative was the super musty smell in the room. Obviously the owners are aware of that too and had an actively working dehumidifier, possibly the smallest one known to man, but it was definitely not enough. The mildew/mold smell was bordering on gross. Also, there is zero cell service here, but the wifi did work well.

ADK is rustic style, but it's clean and comfortable. The shower and bath were fine, parking was easy. Our room had a welcome kitchenette, and a thoughtful bag breakfast was included. The property was well maintained and quiet at night. As described, it's self- service check-in/out. We were only there overnight, but the grounds included a game room, some outdoor games, a BBQ and fire pit, etc. There are attractive flower and vegetable gardens.

We spent a long weekend at the Inn and found it to be a lovely place to stay The room was inviting and the grounds were also very nice. We loved the flower garden and the path behind us ran along the river. The bagged breakfast was a good start to our day and the rec room was appreciated on our rainy Sunday afternoon. There were several choices of places to eat a short drive away, and Stewart's gas station had lots of options for take out and also ice cream:) All in all we had a pleasant stay and would recommend staying here.
