We stayed here two nights and it was great. The front desk, valet parking, and servers at the restaurant were all friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, huge, quiet, and had great air conditioning. The bathroom was also huge with a nice walk-in shower. There was a coffee machine in the room. The valet parking used a texting system to request your car and also to tip. Our car always arrived quickly. We ate one dinner and one breakfast at the restaurant American Reserve and we thought that both meals were pricy but good. The food arrived quickly and the servers were pleasant. I wasn’t a fan of the Lychee Spritzer and I’ve had better Brussels Sprouts, but the pork shoulder and the crab sandwich were good. The location is 2 blocks from Main Street. The hotel is located in an old bank that had been abandoned and then brought back to life as a hotel. There are still some buildings across the street that are waiting for their second life. If abandoned buildings bother you, this isn’t the hotel for you. As one local told me, Grand is more mixed than other streets downtown. We walked to Main Street and did not feel unsafe.

We recently hosted our HS reunion event at the Ambassador KC. The hotel and staff were phenomenal to work with! Staying in touch frequently throughout the planning process reassured us that details were addressed. Staff were all friendly, Food at our dinner was excellent and the facilities are wonderful AND so quiet considering our loud Hospitality Suite! We loved working with everyone! Thank you Jay, Bibbs, Zia, & Theresa!

I recommend against this hotel because the neighborhood is filthy and dangerous. If you do not believe me, ask the 6 police officers in Kevlar vests standing on the corner on a random Wednesday night. The historic building is lovely, renovation well done, staff friendly, room above average, but you cannot walk one step outside the hotel.

Very nice, fancy. Our room was in the north tower, older with a lot of character. Very quiet I never heard anyone above or below! AC very good/shower very good bed fine. Only noise if from the street maybe get a room on the east side away. Expensive snack/drink in room, I just walked to the store on the corner and got my spirits. A little creepy kinda like a gantlet of possible candidates to mug you, just look like you own the place and you will be fine. Valet parking is best option, but you can walk to nearby bars/clubs restaurants. Staff very nice, polite. Free reception cocktail. Only complaint light to bathroom toilet is in vanity area and you have to turn them on to use toilet during the night wakes up others. Rooms have floral scent we did not eat there so no comment on that. Great location and worth staying.

Wow! What a GORGEOUS property! From the moment I parked my car to the Engineering person opened the door to let me in! Then greeted with a great warm smile at the Front Desk (Please forgive me I can’t remember that 2 girls name but I know they both had dark hair and one of them was the front desk Supervisor who just celebrated her one year anniversary). I was welcomed with the up most enthusiastic of hospitality and the front desk agent even offered if I would like some water! Wow! I had the pleasure of meeting the Director of outlet Zia who welcomed me with kindness. Kudos to the entire Leadership team and all the staff for creating culture to serve guests with love! I am happy that I stopped in to see your stunning property for the first time! Congratulations and thank you for a wonderful experience!

Beautiful historic property. If you like historical hotels this is nice one. Staff was, without exception very good. I gave 4 stars because of the age and wear, which is to be expected, but might bother travelers who prefer newer properties. Great blackout curtains. The hotel bar was good.

My wife and I had a 2 night stay here in May. We enjoyed great service, and the staff and valets were very friendly and helpful. Some things to note: - Hotel is in downtown KC and just a short two block walk to the free KC Streetcar on the main axis linking all the sites north to River Market and south to Union Station. Looks like the line will be extended to Country Club Plaza soon. MAX bus service stops nearby as well. - Also, a short, half mile walk to the T-Mobile Center/Power & Light District from the hotel - There is no Club lounge for Marriott members but desk check in was very proactive in giving us either a restaurant credit or the 750 pts per night option - We did not dine at the hotel but there is a jazz supper club in the basement which runs on Friday - Sat nights and a small bar/cafe off the lobby - There is a small gym in the basement. Website shows a Peloton bike, but no Peloton bike was present on our stay if you are hoping for one. - Beekman Brothers toiletries which my wife loved - Our room was very spacious, in the older portion of the two buildings. But it was dark which was great for sleeping but not so much for reading. Another lamp would be helpful - housekeeping was very proactive Would we stay again - yes, very much so!
