"In March 2025, we stayed for a few days at Hotel Corsendonk Hoogerheide. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. It's a beautiful hotel nestled in the woods. The staff is extremely friendly. The room was spacious and clean. It's wonderfully peaceful. We even saw a deer from our room. The hotel has a lovely wellness center. The hotel is ideal for walking and cycling. In the evening, you can enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel. All in all, a wonderful stay. Highly recommended."

"A shadow of its former glory, unfortunately. We spent the night here with mixed feelings. The hospitality of both the person who checked us in by phone and the ladies who served breakfast was fine. The breakfast was basic but had enough variety for us. It was also refilled well throughout the day. The room, however, really shocked us upon arrival. We did not use the shower in our room due to the bizarre amount of mold in the shower cabin. We mentioned this when checking out. The lady indicated she would pass it on, but did not seem surprised when we mentioned the room number. The cleaning of the carpet also left something to be desired. In our children's room, there was a chair covered in dirty spots. I believe it was once a beautiful place, but now it is in dire need of maintenance. For us, the room is a reason not to return."

"In all fairness.. we on this trip... so I guess I shouldn't be too harsh... This "wellness" hotel leaves a lot to be desired and is in desperate need of a refurbishment. Though the wellness (sauna, hamam, jaccuzzi and large swimming pool) are ok, the rooms are rather shady and old, with filthy carpet, mold in the shower, a TV from the 70'ies with a remote control with no numbers/letters on it whatsoever, and the pillows are hardly filled with anything. But... personel is friendly, and the 3 course dinner we had was outstanding, as was the breakfast the next morning, although the breakfast room was also rather tacky and in need of a makeover. So food: excellent. Lodging: could do a lot better!"

"Location is good, with no parking problems. The bedroom was clean, and bedlinnen also clean. The bathroom had black mould on the walls around the bath/shower and some questionable electrical things going on (electrical wires from, presumably, previous lighting fixtures) poking out of the tiled walls. One very major 'stumbling block', was that our room was at the end of a badly lit corridor and our room and the room next to it, both had a step down of about 20 cm or more, and absolutely no warning outside the room that one was about to descend! The man in the room next to ours literally fell into his room on his first night there. He was luckily unhurt! Otherwise, breakfast was adequate, staff were friendly. I initially booked one night and wanted to extend this to two. I sent an e-mail direct to the hotel. Didn't receive a reply to that, so did 'adjust my booking' on the website. When we checked in they thought we'd booked two rooms for one night, so that wasn't a good start to our two nights there. Price/quality seem a bit out of touch here I think. We had a 'deluxe' room, so I was wondering what the not so deluxe rooms were like..."

"Stayed at this hotel for a business trip in February. All the boxes were ticked, clean modern room with nice decor, spacious bathroom and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was really good also and the staff were excellent. After checkout I received a phonecall from reception because I left headphones in the room, reception kindly arranged for them to be posted home to me. I will be back in April and plan to stay here again."

"My wife and I have had 8 stays at City Hotel Turnhout in connection with the Graspop music festival in June. It is always a super nice experience, with lovely rooms and a distinctly delicious breakfast buffet. The 2 owners and the staff are really service-minded and helpful with everything you could need. "Its a good location especially in the winter when it snowed, A year ago we stayed in a cabin and that was wonderfull, now we ( me and my husband ) stayed in the hotel and my husband got a romantic welcome package for me as a suprise, but when we got to the room it was empty. We went to the reception to ask what happened and there was a misunderstanding so they fixed it by setting up the package in the room while we're eating dinner in the restaurant and they also gave a big bottle of cava instead of the small one because of the misunderstanding. So after dinner we went to the room again and we saw most of the package nicely lait out, but there was no candlelights no balloon and no flowers on the bed just the rose petals, the chocolates and the cava. We went to the reception again to explain and even showed them the proof of what the package included on their official site, but they said the flowers are not always included it depends on the moment ( but when you see on the list whats suposed to be included it says rose petals and 2 flowers on the bed ) And they said the balloon isn't included ( but I showed her that it did say it on their site. So at the end they give us 2 candles to light, but not the flowers because they didn't have those probably en no balloon because they say its not on theur computer, but mind you my husband tried to set this up for me because its our anniversary he paid 59 euro for all this and they mess it all up b And bye suprise. Its sad and frustrating and I especially just feel sad for my husband because the suprise and everything is ruined."
