Hotel Riu Palace Zanzibar - All Inclusive

It is a bit pricey but the service and food very good. It is an all inclusive resort and everything is free. They have a bar and service for 24 hours. They have multiple restaurants and one of their restaurant open three times a day and there is another restaurant that opens till late. You can use RIU Jambo resort facilities. There are about four or five restaurants open for dinner time but to get a table you have to book and it is hard to find a table there and it is fully booked, well I stayed for two days and all those restaurants were fully booked.

Nice hotel just not much to do in evening

My husband and I stayed for a week in August and had a fantastic time. The buffet (especially at breakfast) had so much choice, was mostly cooked fresh in front of you and tasted great. The hotel is on a hill and we were at the top so there was a bit of a walk down to breakfast & the pool each day - so much so that we often didn’t return to our room until the evening. There is a complimentary golf cart which can take you to/from the pool which we did use once. The grounds are kept immaculately by the staff who were always busy working to keep things beautiful. We enjoyed the kayaking on the beach but you do have to try and time it to not be stopped by the beach sellers. They are very polite and not pushy but sometimes we just wanted to walk on the beach without being interrupted - that’s really unlikely to happen here. The entertainment was ok on a couple of nights but was very repetitive - not something which worried us much as we’re happy with a drink and some cards. There was 1 day that we had a couple of power cuts and limited water in the evening. We were offered another room to shower in but made do with the trickle! Another day we weren’t given any towels and had to use the pool towels as we wanted to shower after our snorkelling trip. When I asked for them, the housekeeper said she’d bring them later and they arrived about 6pm - very strange! Big shout out to Abuu who looked after us in the restaurant in the evenings and was very attentive, remembering our drink orders each night. The sun beds on the sand section were incredibly comfortable and the Makuti bar was conveniently located to get drinks easily. Ginger bar was nice and chilled throughout the day. Our biggest thanks goes to Norah who was always on hand to make the most delicious strawberry daquaris and would read our mind and bring them to us without even asking. Always served with a smile on her face! Catherine and Paulina were also wonderful! Martin at breakfast was the friendliest waiter I think I have ever met! I would say it is more of a lovely 4 star than 5 stars. If you’re used to absolute luxury and perfection then you would be left a little disappointed. That being said, we loved our stay and would love to come back!

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Wishes are fulfilled 100%. Its a big family. The roomservice Was perfekt and Nora from the sunshine bar was great
