Diamonds Mapenzi Beach

The room is very different from the picture. Room condition is dirty and old(the worst condition I stayed in Zanzibar) The worst thing was the attitude of reception staffs and the boss. They are too rude and disrespectful and unpleasant. Because the room is very different from the picture, I requested refund, the boss responded in rude manner and no refund. The room is rusty and dirty. The drain hole in bathroom is clogged with hair. And swimming is impossible because ebb tide. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed. Thank you for no refund and giving me an opportunity to share my worst experience ever with whom considering Diamonds Mapenzi. I recommend you never make a reservation. Please do go other hotel.

Great experience the staff were friendly, the service was excellent, and the environment was relaxing. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Wonderful clean hotel. Food was very good in the restaurant. We had nice drinks. The animation team was great and especially during the activities and night time created pleasent atmosphere. We would to thank Jamal. Diamonds Mapenzi.... what a BEAUTIFUL resort with beautiful views and even more amazing staff! There is a reason Diamonds is in the name. This resort is really precious! Absolutely delightful experience! The staff here are, without a doubt, the friendliest and most accommodating we've ever had the pleasure of encountering. From the moment we stepped foot in the door, we were treated like royalty. Their warm smiles, attentive service, and genuine willingness to go above and beyond made us feel truly special. Every interaction was a joy, and their dedication to ensuring our needs were met was impressive. They have a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. If you're looking for a place where you'll be treated like family, look no further. The staff's exceptional service and kindness will leave you feeling pampered and appreciated. Five stars isn't enough – we'd give them a million if we could! Before we left for the trip, our travel agent advized us that there is some construction going on for upgrades. Even though there is construction going on; NONE of the amenities were affected. Everything has been relocated to another spot on the resort; making everything super convenient for us! The friendly staff is by far the best feature of this resort! A special thank you to Jamal, Zabib, Habus, Hammada and the GM (apologies for not catching your name). The food is absolutely delicious! They offer a MASSIVE variety of foods that cater to your every craving! The rooms are better than the pictures! Beds are very comfortable and the staff really do ensure that the rooms are clean, neat and turned down every night! Hakuna matata should be the moto of this place! There really are no worries when you arrive here!

After having a most pleasant experience in a situation with lodging at Serengeti, I was looking forward to a short stay on Zanzibar at the Diamonds to rest and relax before my 21 hour flight home to the United States. However, upon arrival, there were issues with my beautiful room, which faced the beach. I was very disappointed, but called the office and Khannaf was sent to my room to find out what the issues were. He was most pleasant and professional. He assured me that he would have everything in grand repair as soon as possible. This was most appreciated since my stay was so short and I needed time to recover from the dreadful experience I had in the Serengeti. If it were not for Khannaf, I don’t know what I would have done. He kept me up-to-date with every step along the repair and replacement of material. He assured me that all was fixed, and that I should have no further problem. Indeed he was correct KHANNAF made my visit to Zanzibar an unforgettably wonderful experience!

After significant and current refurbishment Diamonds Mapenzi is nothing short of a building site. It is a health and safety risk where a serious accident/ incident is waiting to happen. I have seen other recent Trip advisor reviews suggesting this hotel is a “haven” I would suggest these are written by AI or staff. Do not book to stay here under any circumstance, it is a shambles. The staff and leadership team have been compromised by the owners and left trying to appease gusts or move them to alternate hotels . This hotel will not be complete for several months “caveat emptor”

Everything about Diamonds mapenzi is nice and amazing We were looking for relaxation and finally found it in this corner of paradise characterized by a setting of beautiful gardens and tropical colored sea. Hotel staff is welcoming and extremely helpful Jamal the recreation manager make us feel at home with warmth and sympathy ensuring tranquility and safety. The impaccable cleaniness and food allows for international tasting of excellent quality. Definitely come back.
