I came to Malabar for a long weekend and wedding celebration. Overall, the location and grounds were stunning. However, they appear to be understaffed, which can affect quality of service a bit. Highlights: -Bindhu gave a lovely Ayurvedic treatment. The spa was so relaxing and quiet and came complete with a shower room to rinse off the oil afterward. The treatment was also followed by a chilled coconut which was the perfect finish. -The grounds are stunning and truly feel like paradise. Every room is just a short walk away from the beach which is quiet, clean, and truly heavenly. -Staff helped me arrange airport transport to and from the hotel when I Whatsapped the hotel prior to arrival. This was very much appreciated. -Every day the dropped off three bottles of water at my door which was very much appreciated. Needs improvement: -The first day I was asked around 4:30 pm if I needed housekeeping, but I was getting ready for a function so I declined. The second day, I called reception three times for housekeeping services, but despite assurances that they would come around 7:30 pm they never came. For a beach resort, where sand can be tracked everywhere, morning housekeeping should be mandatory. -It was often difficult to communicate in English. Most of my requests required multiple follow up calls and having to slow down, repeat, and hope I was understood. However, the majority of requests (beyond housekeeping) were eventually fulfilled, especially when they were made through WhatsApp. Overall, despite a the housekeeping issue, I had a great experience and would recommend this resort for a tranquil weekend escape!
