Even though the option in Food section is limited and bit on pricey side, the taste is good and one can enjoy it. In terms of service and amenities, I can score it 7 out of 10. The hotel staffs are very polite and hospitable. Wanted to specifically mention about the restaurant staff Hafeez. He had been very kind and had tried to cater the requests from guests. Thank You!"

" What to expect when you book a room at Anansa Boutique Hotel by The Kannur Club: Friendly helpful staff. Delicious but overpriced food. The general manager making loud phone calls, in all rooms to hear. A bedroom so hot that the AC can't cool it down. Construction workers working all night without prior notification, leaving your room filled with chemical fumes. Multiple phonecalls to your room during the night. The general manager having staff meetings in the breakfast room, while guest are having breakfast. Four times a fire alarm around midnight, without any explanation from the staff. The director with four friends, all totally drunk, keeping the guests awake until you ask them to be quiet around 12:30 AM. Your complaints not be taken seriously. Anansa by The Kannur Club: they like playing hotel, they hate having paying guests."

"After a hectic checking for a relaxing beach resort at Kannur zeroed on to Malabar beach resort. First contacted the resort manager Mr Sumesh who knew Kannada. Enquired him about customising the Pure veg food without garlic. Got a very good response. Then contacted the owner Mr Sunil & had all the information. Both were very cordial & assured me of very good stay. I at 71 year old drove from Mysore accompanied by my wife. The very first impression after reaching the resort was Wow. The manager Mr Sumesh enquired & arranged for a delicious Lunch while on our way to resort. No hassles at all in checking. The moment we reached resort, room was given in just 3 minutes. First time in my entire touring life that, room was given in such a whisker. Thanks to Mr Sumesh & Mr Sunil the owner. Room was very good, meet & tidy surrounded by greenery. Swings, lots of flowery plants & trees greeted us. The beech Tottada was Soo near just 50 metres away from the entrance. It was so clean & the Sunset view was stunning. The helper boys were so humble & Mr Vijay was at our help anytime. Mr Sumesh gave all the information to go about around the resort especially Theyyam festivities, places of importance. The pure Veg food was a delicious & delight. My wife who likes simple food like, chapati, Palayam, sambhar, chutney, curds, & the Mysorean rice had an immense appreciation to the Chef. Coming to the minus points The room didn’t had kettle, coffee and tea & milk sachets unlike other places. They were giving coffee and tea room service but it was being charged. Next even though the food was delicious the vegetarian food was charged a bit more. The prices should have been a minimum of 20% less than what they charge. I felt the food items costed more than any other places. Because it’s a wonderful relaxing place for senior citizens as well as younger families & friends, my request to owner Mr Sunil to give a small discount to seniors. This will be a hearty gesture. We wanted to stay for 2 days but extended to another day graciously for the wonderful, clea, calm, & beautiful beach & food. Will visit again with our daughters & granddaughters shortly. Tq Mr Sunil ( owner) & Mr Sumesh the manager & Mr Vijay the helping boy. I recommend this Malabar beach resort to all my friends, relatives & the Public to go & enjoy the mesmerising beach, resort food both veg & non veg & the hospitality of the entire staff. Pack up immediately and go for a beautiful beach resort stay. There’s a Longest beach drive at Muzampilgad nearby. It’s stunning and beautiful. It’s the longest beach drive in Asia. Muthappa temple nearby is a serene place and having wonderful boat rides. Theyyam is an added attraction. Hei are you planning, Call Mr Sunil or Mr Sumesh & book your rooms to enjoy with your family, friends."

"I had travelled with my family, including my Amma who is a senior citizen. The resort is located in the heart of the city but away from the hustle of city life. The property belongs to a well known family and they have taken care to maintain the aesthetics value of each section of the property. Rooms are cozy, traditional keralam feel. The breakfast is limited however, freshly cooked. The menu for the day is filled with mouth watering Malabar cuisine and from other parts of India. The service is top class, with the personnel totally committed to looking after your needs. Even the guests/ friends of the guests are made to feel at home. Value for money."

I had a little trouble adjusting the air conditioning (and there was no fan), and the restaurant is closed (due to the LPG shortage), but otherwise pleasant stay."
