All show, no substance. AVOID
At best a 3 star hotel, attached to some restaurants.
Service is non existent, reception staff do not acknowledge, on one occasion there were 4 receptionists, all looking at the screen, and did not look up to see I was waiting, the only guest there.
Same in the restaurants, do not acknowledge customers, in fact totally opposite, the one person who was supposed to welcome guests, looked away. They never acknowledged us when we left the restaurant.
At the back of the hotel there was such a strong smell of a cess pit, we decided not to go to the beach. Many reviews from other guests who stayed a number of months before us have mentioned this. A 5 star hotel wouldn't have this or would have sorted.
The rooms were filthy, Ill designed and dated. Wall paper peeling off, water leaking in the bathroom, headboard dirty, bed frame dirty. All signs of a 2 star or lower hotel.
There were two staff that displayed service ethic, Liden in the restaurant, and "Ibo", who was at the rtea stand.
We will be writing to the CEO with more details and photographs, with no hope of a response.
Happiness was the Kaldan Sumudhra Palace in the rear view mirror.

It seems to be the best hotel in Chennai with the fastest service.
The pool was clean, the room had good access to the pool, and the walking trail was great.

I highly recommend this place for families with children. The location is excellent and the ambience is extraordinary. The resort's theme is Rajasthani and is very well-maintained. The hospitality and food are good, although there are a lot of flies, which can be a bit bothersome. The resort has a swimming pool suitable for children of all ages, but please be cautious as the pool area can get slippery. The resort also offers daily programs which are posted near the reception area to keep everyone entertained. It's not just a place to stay for the night, but a great spot to spend quality time with your family and relax.

The rooms are very comfortable. The service in restaurants is very attentive and accommodating. All allergens are listed on the menu! So helpful! Sandip is a great server! We enjoyed the pool and evening festivities held by the hotel. Evening performances are a great way to wind down before an evening swim.

Had a great experience in Kaldhan this weekend. Especially Priya and Balram in the activity centre were super helpful in engaging the kids with fun activities. A must visit for families with kids. Swimming pool and beach view were also phenomenal. Overall a relaxing vacation.
