"We’ve just returned from a wonderful holiday at the Ionian Theoxenia Hotel, and it certainly didn’t disappoint! The first thing I’d mention is how incredibly clean the hotel is. Everywhere, from the bedrooms to the pool area and all the communal spaces are spotless. The housekeeping team do an amazing job, and the whole hotel is maintained to a really high standard. What really makes this hotel stand out, though, is the people. Every member of staff is genuinely friendly, welcoming and happy to help. You’re made to feel like a valued guest rather than just another room number, and that personal touch makes such a difference. They are happy to go above and beyond. The location is another big plus. It’s only a few minutes’ walk to Kanali’s lovely beach, with plenty of tavernas, cafés and bars nearby. Kanali has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and feels like a proper Greek village rather than a busy tourist resort. The locals are incredibly welcoming, and we always felt at home. If you’re worried about cost, don’t be. The hotel offers excellent value for money, and so does the resort itself. Eating out is much cheaper than in the UK, the food is delicious, and even drinks are very reasonably priced. You can enjoy a fantastic holiday without constantly worrying about your budget. Kanali is also perfectly placed for exploring this beautiful part of Greece. We spent time in the picturesque town of Parga, took a memorable boat trip to the crystal-clear waters of Paxos and Antipaxos, wandered around the marina and old town in Preveza, and enjoyed a scenic drive around the stunning island of Lefkada. "This was just a perfect stay. Great location with few tourists, where I Studied for my exam at the beach. The owners are fantastic, the staff is fantastic, always making sure all is well. Kitchen makes great salads, cleaning is perfect, the bed was great (and I am picky!) There is lots of colorfull fish in the sea by the big stones to the right, so take with you diving glases and a snorkle - best are mornings, the sea is calm. And then there is Ioanis - the tall, skinny waiter that makes you laugh and makes you feel great by flirting with you if you have your husband with you or not ( important for us ladies over 50 ). Traveled solo, but did not feel lonely, you feel really safe and taken care of here ❤️"
