Outrigger Honua Kai Resort & Spa

Location: The hotel's location offers direct beach access, stunning sunsets, and proximity to Kaanapali beach and other attractions. Guests appreciated the beautiful setting and views, making it an ideal spot for family vacations and relaxation.

This was my 3rd time staying at the Honua Kai. The property is magnificent and worth staying at but the overall condition of Unit HKK 820 was showing its signs of age. The unit was well equipped and included everything we needed. We even had an issue with the coffee maker not working and after a call to KBM we had a new one later that afternoon. The problem I had with the unit was the overall cleanliness. The main carpet was dirty had huge stains on it. The drapes had large stains and the shower grout was dingy and stained. The TV stand was missing a chunk of wood out of it. The exterior windows do not look like they have been cleaned in some time. Even in the hallway there was evidence that they had to cut into the drywall but had just replaced the drywall and had not taped or finished or painted it to match the rest of the wall. I have always thought of the Honua Kai as the standard for luxury rentals. This trip has shown me that is no longer the case.

This was the PERFECT place to stay for our family of four (two kids, 11 and 13 years old). We spent a lot of time looking at where to stay, and we were not disappointed with our selection. The kids had their own room and bathroom, we had our own room and bathroom. We decided to go for a room with an ocean view, and it was gorgeous. We spent a lot of time out on our lanai. Having laundry and a kitchen really came in handy! The pools were perfect for our two boys, and the beach out front was great for snorkeling and sunsets. And best of all - Duke's! We love the one in Malibu and this helped tipped the scales for us in deciding where to stay. We got take out and ate there for a bunch of meals - so delicious and convenient! Overall, just a great place to stay. We had a wonderful time!
