My husband and I chose to stay here for a couple of nights before joining a 7 day cruise of the inside passage. Its convenient location and the Marriott reputation were the main reasons for our choice. Never again would we stay there! It was one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. After a lengthy journey from Brisbane to Juneau we were exhausted and expected something a little more than we received on our arrival. We were not even greeted when entering the hotel and after a few minutes standing there the lady at the desk finally stopped gazing at her computer and acknowledged us. She asked for our passports, took an imprint of our credit card, gave us our key and basically that was it!!!! No information about the facilities; maybe because there are none. There is no restaurant (that’s closed), no information about where to eat etc etc. The room was extremely basic we couldn’t believe that there were paper cups for drinking tea and coffee and plastic cups for water. There was one small bottle of “free” bottled water per day. The air conditioning didn’t work and our sea view room was noisy. After reading the many recent reviews and comments about this hotel after our stay, I regret that I didn’t take the time to read them before our stay. Who would have thought that you would need to after staying at many Marriott hotels previously in our years of travelling! I’m now just adding one more negative review to the list. Note the quote on the key envelope……. “You’re key to an extraordinary stay” 😳

The hotel has okay front desk didn’t bring up towels asked them too just said they will let housekeeping know in the morning. Then the breakfast was disgusting cheap should be free. The location is great, I had to move rooms 2 times because I’m not going to be put into a handicap room I didn’t ask for them the mountainside view was just the view of garbage on a hill then the manager said sorry moved me to a top floor room gave use free breakfast but it was subpar food.

This was a highly disappointing stay. From arrival to departure, we were barely spoken to as if we were disturbing the front desk staff. They seriously never spoke to us. I've never had a hotel staff not speak when we came in and out. A basic hello would have been nice. The room was dirty: old tags on the bathroom floor clearly showed that the floors had not been cleaned. The hotel is in desperate need of a remodel as there were broken tiles and the carpet was disgusting. For the price we paid the least we could have had was a clean room. We asked for another room and was told they were sold out...which was interesting because when I went to the website, I was able to book a room. I would NEVER stay here again and I won't be steering any of my clients to this property.

Staff is friendly and helpful. But that is were the good news ends. This is the worst of the Marriott Bonvoy that I have ever stayed globally. This is saying a lot since I have stayed over 2000 nights in Marriott properties in over 50 countries. This one has no a/c and in summers the rooms get very hot. In our room the temperature reached 88F! Breakfast was bad.

There is a reason the locals say “I’m sorry” when you tell them you are staying here. We are platinum members and this is by far our worst experience at a Marriott property. Housekeeping didn’t empty the trash or coffee maker before check in. The body wash bottle was also empty and when we asked them to refill it they just set one in the bathroom and left the empty one on the shower wall. Seriously, how hard is it to replace it? For the 30 minutes we were in the restaurant for breakfast literally no employees entered the space. We went elsewhere after that. God help you if you ask the front desk for something because they make you feel like you’re an inconvenience. On our last full day there, housekeeping left us without toilet paper and they didn’t replace the bottled water. When I went down to ask for more of both I was practically tossed a roll of paper, and I was told housekeeping would need to bring the water. So you can get me TP but housekeeping has to give me a couple bottles of water when they’ve already left for the day? I later found out that the housekeeping excuse was a lie to avoid the fact that they had no more bottled water at all. Go to Costco or Fred Meyer and buy a case for Pete’s sake. Own your responsibility to your guests, and while you’re at it make them feel like you’re happy they chose your hotel. We’re coming back but NOT to the Sheraton.

Our stay was less than ideal. First the shampoo and body soap dispensers were empty upon check-in. Apparently, housekeeping didn't check when they clean the room between guests. We were told they would be refilled. They were not. The main issue with our stay was the lack of elite benefits. I am a lifetime Platinum member. At check-in, I opted for the breakfast option. The front desk agent didn't know what I was talking about and only offered points. I informed her that breakfast was an option. She said for me to take it up with the front desk agent the next morning. The next morning the front desk agent gave me the breakfast voucher but commented why the front desk agent from last night didn't do it. The following morning, when we asked for the breakfast voucher, we were told that it was one voucher per stay. I informed the front desk agent that the terms and conditions say it is per night not per stay. She said no. I then asked to speak with her manager. She called the manager and handed me the phone. The manager said it was per stay or $50. I informed her that it was per night and that the $50 was only if I didn't get the amenity. She said she would be right down to "show me." When she got to the lobby, she greeted me by pointing to me and said in a rather loud voice "follow me." She directed me to the office where there was a chart on the wall. She pointed me to the line (which was highlighted) "it's per stay." I informed her the line she was pointing to clearly said "per night." She got more upset and told me, to follow her to the restaurant and informed the staff the we could have breakfast. She ended our interaction by saying she will be calling corporate. She was very rude in our interaction. That sort of ruined my day as I was quite shocked at her reaction and how she treated me. The fact that the line was highlighted makes me wonder if there were other times this issue was brought up. She also said that the restaurant was a third party. If that were the case, then why were there vouchers available. The next day, she happened to be working the front desk. When we asked for the breakfast voucher, she said "just tell the ladies it's fine for us to have breakfast." The ladies at breakfast didn’t take my word so someone else from the front desk had to come to the restaurant to give the okay. Later that morning, we asked for late check-out. We were denied because they said housekeeping leaves at 1pm and they need to clean the room before they leave. I've never been denied late checkout before. We weren’t even asking for 4pm late check-out. I’m not sure if this is an isolated incident, but it seems like elite benefits are a miss at this property. The attitude of the manager also was not professional.
