My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Bahia Vik. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the beauty of the property and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The food was exceptional—fresh, flavorful, and artfully presented—and the service throughout our stay was top-notch. A special thank-you to Lucia, the property manager, whose genuine hospitality and gracious attention to every guest made us feel truly cared for. The entire team reflected her positive spirit and professionalism. We left Bahia Vik feeling relaxed, inspired, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone seeking luxury, comfort, and authentic Uruguayan warmth in José Ignacio.

Bahia Vik is a really beautiful and luxurious experience. The place located right at the beach with gorgeous views of the village of Jose Ignacio and sand dunes. At this time of the year is perfect to enjoy the views while reading, walking thru the beach and all along the cost filled with amazing size rocks. You can also go bicycle riding all around and discover the gorgeous town of Jose Ignacio. Buffet breakfast in Bahia Vik is a really tasty experience of fresh fruits, juices, delicious pastries, sandwiches, croissants, great coffee and tea selection. For those keen on exercise and movement Bahia Vik offers yoga, pilates and strength gym, a complete experience not to be missed!

Effortless Excellence, the VIK Way As always with VIK, everything was exceptional — effortlessly so. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. We received complimentary upgrades, our room was ready well before the official check-in time, and the concierge assisted with all reservations, recommendations, and daily plans. The personalized attention to every detail is exactly what makes VIK stand out. Highly recommended, just like all of their properties.

We have just returned from a very disappointing visit to Bahia Vik. Our room was vey substandard. This was especially true since it was priced as a luxury hotel. The furniture was sparse and chipped. The blackout curtain was ripped as was the screen on the sliding door and the room reeked of disinfectant. Most distressing was the bathroom. The shower was in the middle of the bathroom with no glass enclosure. It sprayed all over the floor. The bathroom was painted with a scuffed black paint. In addition, there was no television. The public areas are better but the rooms are inadequate for the price.

We had planned for almost a year to come to Bahia Vik in Jose Ignacio to celebrate my mother-in-law's 80th Birthday. Our stay more than exceeded our expectations. It is a gorgeous setting, with a large dining room/lounge with huge windows that look out on the ocean. Each room is named for the artist whose work decorates that room, which makes the experience feel intimate and unique and not a standardized hotel experience. The hotel is small, and the staff made all 9 of us feel. We were cared for individually, recognizing us whenever we walked by the front desk and continually checking on us, giving advice, or helping us with plans. A couple of employees went above and beyond to help us. Zahira worked tirelessly to ensure we had dinner reservations, activities, and tours. When I had a concern about not being able to get into a crowded yoga class, she made sure to check into the situation and follow up with me so that I was able to enjoy myself. Most importantly, however, Lucia was the hero of our trip. We had a challenging situation involving one of our young adult children who got lost in another town, and she stayed up all night with us, translating Spanish and advising us on how to proceed. She stayed working hours after she needed to and displayed such incredible concern, consideration, and care that we felt we were in excellent hands. We can't wait to return to this beautiful country with lovely people, delicious food, wine, and an exceptional setting.

Imagine paying a staggering USD 2,475 per night for a standard room during New Year's week, only to experience a hotel that neglects to assist with luggage, lacks 24-hour room service, stocks the minibar with nothing but water, offers no guest snacks, serves an abysmally poor breakfast, provides inadequate service, and clearly requires maintenance. To make matters worse, a friend staying at the hotel discovered 3 scorpions in their room. This establishment charges Four Seasons prices but delivers a Mercure level of service. It's a complete disappointment and a waste of money. Imagine pagar incríveis USD 2.475 por noite por um quarto padrão durante a semana de Ano Novo, apenas para se deparar com um hotel que negligencia ajudar com as malas, não oferece serviço de quarto 24 horas, abastece o frigobar apenas com água, não fornece lanches para os hóspedes, oferece um café da manhã extremamente fraco, presta um serviço inadequado e claramente necessita de manutenção. Para piorar, um amigo que ficou no hotel encontrou 3 escorpiões em seu quarto. Este estabelecimento cobra preços de Four Seasons, mas entrega um serviço de nível Mercure. É uma completa decepção e um desperdício de dinheiro.
