Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Loveland

Friendly staff and decent breakfast love the hot tub

This was a better than average stay for an older, arthritic couple. I had booked another two night stay with a hotel chain and upon further investigation discovered there would be n extra $30 charge for what I originally reserved. The photo I tapped had a whirlpool tub outside the bath in the room, a feature I wanted. I took the time to visit the chain to examine the room…the attendant showed me several different rooms, none of which had the whirlpool. Finally she showed me where a room with whirlpool was, up a flight of stairs, yet I could not see in the room since someone was in it. The attendant said I could have this room for an extra $30, making my total $167.00. The place smelled…I looked around at other hotel deals and Hawthorne came in at $166.00! The reviews bragged about the hot tub and pool, and the photo of them looked inviting. The place looked clean and inviting in the photos. I booked with Hawthorn, then was able to cancel the other place. We are 82 and 69 and the elevator was welcome. The suite with kitchenette was perfect with full fridge and microwave! The bath has a welcome safety grab bar and the tub was immaculate. The wonderful hot tub and tub were also immaculate, with so very much appreciated jets with multiple pressure points for our sciatica and knee surgery issues.

All was going really well until my 2nd night . First impression was great , loved the room and space ( like my own little apartment, one bedroom) Until the 2 nd day , when I picked up my friend from DIA ( after long trip from Mexico ) and we went back to hotel to relax . My friend opened the sofa bed & to our shock ( and my humiliation) he showed me that the mattress was hugely pee stained and had garage in it . Needless to say , I was SO embarrassed. Imagine what my guest felt ? A sad disappointment for what otherwise was a near perfect stay .

The good reviews on here must be fake. My experience echoes many of the lower ratings given here. When we checked in I noticed right away that the kitchen cupboards were filled with filthy dishes, the refrigerator was leaky, no kitchen towels available, just half a roll of paper towels with no extra rolls anywhere, a mostly used box of tissues in the bathroom, etc. So they're cheap and dirty, okay, but I'm stuck here because most places in the area don't accept cats for some reason. The cleaning staff also does not speak English and barges into your room or bangs loudly in the morning, giving major attitude if you object (like slowly looking you up and down with a bit of an eye roll thrown in to spice it up) But these are not my primary complaints. The front desk staff (Samara & Josie) created a scenario where I (a paying guest being quiet and respectful, unlike other guests staying there) was the problem, which ended with Samara threatening to lock me out of my room for being "rude" to the entitled Gen Z princesses they believe themselves to be. I don't care if I call you a useless b****h (which I didn't do but SOOO wished I could have) you DON'T EVER threaten customers that way. My disabled daughter and cats were locked in my room because those two were too lazy or incompetent to take care of my billing issue in a professional manner and make sure my key card was still active. For a little context, if you care to keep reading, the website states that you can pay an extra $50 for a 3:00 checkout. So I called that morning to arrange it because it would work out better for my situation. Well apparently this location has decided on its own to ignore that policy, and Samara said they were just being "gracious" by allowing me to do that. Basically, they could have easily attempted to make things right, listened calmly to my concerns and solved the problem at hand, but decided to accuse me of being a problem instead because I was justifiably upset at the situation they created, where my daughter and cats are basically being held hostage because there was an issue with my bank card (which sometimes happens when I travel). The manager was useless too, completely defending their immature, unprofessional behavior, and did not even address the threat that Samara made. He never apologized to me either, or indicated that he understood my concerns. I was actually considering calling the police at one point if Samara had followed through. Never in my life have I had anything close to this kind of treatment at a hotel. This place and the people working there are a joke. Is everyone in Colorado this horrible? I'm from Washingron and never in a million years would this happen there, or in California or Arizona, where I have often traveled to as well.

Very nice, very clean. My only complaint would be that there were three decaffeinated copies and only one regular.

Conveniently located to shopping and play area for children. Lots of food selections. The suite was super cool to have especially with family sleeping in past the breakfast time. We were able to toast the waffles and refrigerate drinks and leftovers and medical supplies as we needed.
