Baijoo Niwas

This place is marvellous. The owner Anshuman Pivas is very hands on and attentive. Thank goodness for that as my family arrived with fairly bad gastro and they were marvellous at helping get us back on our feet. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms clean and ample hot water and the beds were comfortable. The rooftop terrace a feature of many Jodpur venues is superb. We loved our time here but it’s shame we were under the weather. Throughly recommend this place. Location also good for easy access to the Old Town.

Pros: Convenient location (check note 1 below), decent food, clean rooms, quiet stay Cons: Behaviour pattern of the staff can be erratic. (Check note 2 below) Note 1: The location is very close to the railway station, but can be tricky to find. Google maps can make you go in circles. If you are using a train, you can get out of the train station and take a right turn from outside platform 1. Walk to the Sojati square, which is about a 10 minute walk. You will pass Janta sweet home ***** the way. Then from the square, you need to take a left turn into the road adjacent to the one you came from. Note that this is not a 90 degree turn. After this you can find Baijoo Niwas towards your right in the lane. You can walk up to Mehrangarh fort and other places from this hotel. Note 2: The owner was kind enough to upgrade our room to a bigger one for the same price due to availability. While the staff working there was not outrightly rude or disrespectful, their behaviour came across as cold and indifferent at times, and made us feel we are not fully welcome. It is a heritage boutique hotel, so maybe the hospitality expected from a large hotel cannot be replicated here fully.

The hotel offers well-maintained rooms and exceptional service, with staff and management always eager to assist guests. Located on the prime Market Road, it provides easy access to all areas of the city, with local transportation available throughout the day. The hotel also boasts a top-notch kitchen, serving made-to-order dishes. Overall, it stands out as one of the best places to stay in Jodhpur.

This hotel is fantastic. Conveniently located near the train station, the hotel is in a noisy busy area, but when you step inside it is an oasis of peace and quiet. There is also a lovely rooftop patio. Two old homes were beautifully and recently renovated and everything is beautifully and tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. The bed was wonderfully firm and comfortable. Towels and linens were good quality. While a/c was available the ceiling fan kept the room comfortable. The shower was wonderful! Our room even had a basket of complimentary snacks. Because we had to leave before breakfast after our second night, an ample breakfast was packed for us to take with us to the airport. The staff are very friendly and thoughtful. It is an unbelievable value for the price. I liked that the hotel had both Indian and foreign guests and it was fun to meet others in the restaurant, where we had a delicious dinner and the breakfast included with the room. We loved staying at Baijoo Niwas and recommend it highly!

I would highly recommend this hotel. It’s right in the centre of Jodhpur yet when you turn into the courtyard it’s so calm. The staff are excellent and very attentive and I would definitely recommend having an evening meal here has it was lovely. All in all a totally positive experience and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
